Now Open at Irvine Marketplace: Another Yogurtland and Dumpling & Noodle House

• One more thing I forgot to mention, before I shut up. There is another location in Buena Park, that is much, much better. (The Korean name is "Mandoorang"). The best thing about both is that they offer free fountain sodas. Looking forward to the review, and of course, the photos....

• eater! Awesome that you tried it. Thanks for the report! I tried it too, but I'll save my review till this Sunday's Monster Munching. Agi, Hmm...did you know there's also a Yogurtland in the Zion Market plaza on Irvine Blvd. and Yale? If my geometry's correct, that one's equidistant between the one at the Marketplace and the original on Walnut.

• One word: bland. Everything had an unusual taste to it. Unless they fix this, they might end up like Ezo....I'm hoping they had a bad day, so I will go a few more times, but the jja jang myun, naeng myun, steamed dumplings, and "volcano" (dduk bok ki) were all mediocre at best. Very strange.

• The Yogurtland on Walnut is about the same distance from my place as this new one in the Marketplace. Oh, decisions decisions...

• I would have made a visit the day it opened, but after having high hopes that it would be Chinese style, I lost all motivation when I heard that it was -- no offense to Japanese dumplings -- a "high quality Japanese style noodle restaurant," which is from the Market Place's official press release. But now that you say it's Korean, it's the first thing I will do in the morning. This is better than my original hopes! The prices seem pretty good, except for the "zzam pong" which is really high. It's about time Korean food breaks into the MarketPlace. I've only been waiting for about 20 years! Let's just hope it's good. If it is, watch out for the wave of Koreans heading there for a meal and yogurt for dessert. Thanks for the scoop.
