Recession-Time Sushi at Kappo Suzumaru

• Gustavo: God Bless Dosa Place. My favorite Indian joint in O.C. Sure Natraj is ok, Laxmi is pretty good, but Dosa Place takes the cake, especially their lunch buffet, what a bargain! I wish we had more South Indian restaurants, but tandoori is all you will find. Watch out for their spicy chutney though. Yikes!

• Joe Joe: Tommy's is good, but Tustin is actually one of the county's underrated food cities. Have you ever tried Dosa Place off Red Hill?

• Guys... Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but the only reason to go to Tustin for sushi, let alone go to Tustin at all is for Tommy's Sushi.

• Mike: True, but wouldn't you agree that some sushi places serve bigger portions than others? That's all I was trying to point out. Poppa: Glad you and Momma are blogging! However, you're misquoting me. I said "reasonably priced," not "slightly over priced." To wit: The rolls at Suzumaru are more expensive than those at Ami Sushi in SanTana but are bigger and therefore worth the price. In other words, reasonable!

• Gustavo you lost me at "slightly over priced, but larger than average servings" that doesn't sound right coming from my favorite food critic! Well next to hungrymooma that is. That's like having larger than average portions at say uhm a certain Filling Station.

• Mr. Arellano, Please refrain from talking about portion size when reviewing sushi . You aren't eating a burrito after all. With fish, you want, delicate, fresh, and tasty, and any sushi worth mentioning will never be served in "larger-than-average" proporptions and at a "great value." Even old standby restaurants should adhere to such standards; portion size NEVER EVER EVER being one of them.

• God that sucks. Gotta go try their curry. They're only a mile from my house. I'm starting to get a little freaked out that some of my favorite hole in the wall places are going to close this next year. *Crying*

• Val: I didn't get the curry last night only because I was still full from hamburgers for lunch. Everyone else: Suzumaru's curry is miraculous. Go eat NOW.

• Nooooooo. Hang in there, Kappo Suzumaru! You're right about what you've said about their amazing curry.
