I'm confused. Supporters of SanTana's Measure D--which seeks to extend term limits for councilmembers from two four year-terms to three--say the initiative is necessary to curb the power of special interests and developers, a lie we already exposed. But today comes word that SanTana voters are being flooded with a robocall by a Santa Ana school teacher (can't make out the name, but it sounds like Marie) claiming that Measure D "is critically important to ensure ethical and accountable leadership in City Hall." Then the ringer:
Measure D, for Democracy
HA! HA! HA!
Listen to the hilarious robocall:

Sounds like she says she's Maria Alfaro.

The mayor is no joke. He has more power than most people could ever imagine.
He made a few phone calls and poof: $100,000.
He gets the big developers on board, the unions and afew flunkie former and current councilmembers and poof: the electorate thinks Measure D is a good government issue.
I've received two robo calls and I hear the mailers are dropping like bombs tomorrow.
Give respect people, this Mayor knows how to mobilize. Now, if he'd only use those skills on addressing this City's festering problems.
ALL HAIL THE CHIEF.

Here is the latest on this issue, from our friend Thomas Gordon, over at the Orange Juice blog:
I received the following email from The Santa ana Teachers Union:
Dear Mr. Gordon,
This the statement being read by my office to anyone who calls.
It will be on our website sometime this afternoon and we will send
copies out to the local press.
"The Santa Ana Educators Association has not taken a postion on Measure D.
If someone calls you and implies that we have, they are misleading the public.
We have never even discussed the issue, much less taken a position.
It is unfortunate when a campaign uses dirty tricks to drum up votes.
It is totally unacceptable for them to try and use our good name.
If someone calls you about this, our advice is to just hang up."

President, SAEA
So there it is.
The yes on measure d fraud team has resorted to taking cash from developers and special interest who do business with the City of Santa Ana.
Now they have resorted to calling your homes with deceptive calls that are designed to give the impressio that the Union or all Santa ana teachers support measure d.
Shame on Miguel Pulido for attempting to deceive the public with this fraud.
Miguel Pulido has Sal Tinajero, a former SAUSD Board Member as his co-signer on this deceptive ballot measure, and together they were unable to gather actual support for this fraud, so they resort to lies.
Together we must send a loud message to City Hall on Febuary 5.
