KOCE President Mel Rogers Amongst the Unemployed!
And how does Rogers know the employment status of those who attended, or their seating arrangement? What a dope, but can't say I'm surprised.
Too bad he is not in the hole that they are in!
Posted On: Friday, Mar. 20 2009 @ 8:42AMAfter reading your headline, "KOCE President Mel Rogers Amongst the Unemployed!" I got excited thinking that Mel Rogers was fired from KOCE. Alas, my hopes were dashed upon reading the post... Curse you, Headline Writer!
Is there any way to complain to the FCC or some other regulatory agency about KOCE's nonstop fund-raising/"infomercial" programming? It's been MONTHS since they showed their regular schedule on weekend afternoons. Between that and the religion shows on that digital sub-channel, they really have no business calling themselves a public broadcasting station.

Posted On: Friday, Sep. 25 2009 @ 8:51AMWhat did Mel Rogers ever do to you? This article is really pedestrian. Every time you mention him your article turns into a rant with no substantial substance. How can someone "blurt" something out in an e-mail? The critique there doesn't even make sense. Clearly Mel was glad the unemployed were able to get good seats. I met Mel once, and he was an amazing man. He saved KOCE and has really changed the face of public television in this area. He's worked tirelessly for the good of the station, hoping to bring something great to OC.
Oh, and to that commenter, have you forgotten that public television gets it's income from pledge drives? I know they aren't pleasant, but without them, you wouldn't have a station. They don't run commercials.
