God Bless the Orange County Register

Categories: Naranja News

While conservatives across the land follow the screeches of Malkin and friends and demand Congress punish the New York Times and Los Angeles Times for their stories about the US government sifting through international banking records to ostensibly root out terrorists, the lone voice of sanity from the Right comes from our favorite fishwrap's blog, as Orange County Register editorial writer John Seiler tears the Hewitt brigade a new one. Just one quote:

Minister of Propaganda Tony Snow said:

The New York Times and other news organizations ought to think long and hard about whether a public's right to know in some cases might override somebody's right to live.

Actually, our lives depend on our right to know, and to be free. This whole rotten Bush regime is goose-steeping America toward fascism.

Hate the Reg all you want (and please do!) but they have a record of good editorial stances--opposing Japanese internment during World War II, for instance, or the war in Iraq. This is another one. Conservative bloggers love to claim the MSM is filled with liberal elitists--let's see them spin and smear the Register's libertarian stance on the Bush administration's latest red herring.

What do you do to learn the rules when the rules make no sense? Do you call a time out and set the record straight or lambast those who speak lowly of the rules? AAAGHHHHHHHH! The rules suck. I'm writing my own.

I suspect that we'll learn more from Gordon Dillow's return to Iraq than we ever will from the Register's misguided editorial board.

Now that the "Marlboro man" soldier has cut-and-run on his faithful wife, OC's beloved Gordo will have to fill the void. Even though it's generally believed that smoking is not good for you.

Warmly yours,
