Robert Morey Retires--Praise the Lord!

The self-aggrandizing, pompous, rude, resume-stretching, hilarious, self-proclaimed expert on Islam "Dr." Robert Morey gave his last sermon yesterday at Faith Community Church in Irvine. Even in retirement, however, Morey couldn't help but be his old, anti-Christ self: he held a 50% off sale of his books. And we're glad to say that, months after our Morey coverage, quite a few blogs have popped up exposing Morey for the man he is: The Saint Augustinian, Self-Feeder Christian Blog, True Faith Defender, and a long timeline of just one recent Morey nightmare; the latter three, by the way, have more documents than a EIR. O, happy day. More on Morey this week, but first, another little avenue documenting Morey and his vile ways:

Who says that crime doesn't pay. So far Robert Morey has done just fine and he even gets people to give him a party to celebrate his ability to steal money in the name of the Lord.

Nice article and you appear to be increasing traffic on my blog more than James White did.

It appears the days when you would get a lot of responses to a news story on Robert Albert Morey are over. The other blogs appear to be the same.

Everyone is sick of Robert Albert Morey.

Even Stephen Macasil appears to not desire to rush here to defend Robert Morey anymore.

The Biblical Thought blog doesn't appear to be as active either.

The once great Robert Morey Empire is now just a website called "Faith Defenders" and a blog called "Biblical Thought".

Gone is the Nevada corporations of Trinity Media and Christian Scholar's Press. Faith Defenders Ministries, LP no longer has a building at 17601 Fitch Avenue, Irvine, CA. Faith Defenders Church, Inc. still is general partner of Faith Defenders Ministries, LP and the FBN of California Biblical University and Seminary. Faith Community Church of Orange County, Inc. is per my understanding closed. Research and Education Foundation has the FBN of "Faith Defenders" therefore appears to control the website and blog.

Robert Morey's book on Natural Theology has yet to be published and Stephen Macasil's book on spiritual soldiers has yet to be published either.

There is a faithful few Morey-ites trying to put on the appearance that all is well and nothing is happening to the once great Robert Morey Empire.

Will legal problems face Robert Morey at his new location? Only time will tell. Odds are he will get away with it as there really is a sucker born every minute and the legal system is not much for punishing white collar crimes. The best hope is that the IRS will investigate him due to the highly questionable sale of 17601 Fitch Avenue in Irvine, CA.

I thank God that he is finally giving up his southern California con-job and "retiring" to an undisclosed location (i.e. fleeing the state, just as he did in Pennsylvania) because so many agencies are (and were) investigating him. Good riddance. Let him run like the little coward that he is and always has been. I hope that his final, desolate years on Earth will be filled with prosecution and jail time. It will only be a prelude, however, for what awaits him after death. Thank God the legacy that he leaves is one of shame and mass exposure. His conning is now finished and he knows it.

Who is Delilah? Why did she give me an email address of Arellano@ocweekly.com and ask for Larry Wessels email address?

From her blog information, she doesn't appear to work for OC Weekly.

You should publish an article on all of the tall tales that Robert Morey has written or said but that would end up being a large sized book.

I am debating in my mind if reading all of the books in the Library of Congress on Islam is less or more of a tall tale than "Faith Defenders Ministries, LP" is a secular for profit organization therefore none of "Faith Community Church of Orange County" business. What I find amazing is that Robert Morey appears to have gotten away with that silly tall tale until I started publishing documents from the Orange County real estate records and State of California limited partner records that proved that "Faith Defenders Church, Inc." was the general partner of "Faith Defenders Ministries, LP". How does he do it? How does Robert Morey get persons to believe his tall tales? It is amazing to me how stupid people can be to believe his tall tales. Then I read about all of the other tall tales he has told over the years and I am amazed that he has managed to get away with his tall tales for as long as he has. Do not people stop and ask does this seem possible?

I should publish that stupid email that Stephen Macasil sent me but I will not. Talk about a person who is either blind to the truth about Robert Morey or part of the con-artist operation. Some of the arguments he used was strange and plain silly. The email simply made me mad so I plotted my revenge as I considered the email an insult to my intelligence. I think that Stephen Macasil believes I am as dumb as he is.

Is it my imagination or did the air start going out of the Morey Empire hot air ballon when a copy of the 17601 Fitch Avenue Irvine CA grant deed to "Palmetto Hospitality Irvine LLC" with Robert Morey's signature as President of the general partner of "Faith Defenders Ministries, LP" which was "Faith Defenders Church, Inc." hit the internet as a blog posting? Then the pre-sale agreements with "OTO Development LLC" with Robert Morey's signature as the President of "Faith Defenders Ministries, LP" posted along with the grant deed selling the legendary Faith Defenders building to hotel developers.

There is clueless Dense on the Biblical Thought blog who believes that "Faith Community Church of Orange County" moved into a larger building after leaving 17601 Fitch Avenue, Irvine, CA. More like moved into a building about one quarter the size! What kind of tall tales are told to the remote Morey-ites not living in Orange County? There is super clueless Travis on the Biblical Thought blog who lives in Central California.

The clueless ones appear to be the die-hard hold outs on the Biblical Thought blog along with the die-hard how dare you say anything negative about Robert Morey!

So you plan on publishing more articles on Robert Morey? That may be like beating a dead horse? I detect that Robert Morey is so finished in Orange County that I am surprised he got much of a going away and retirement party.

I would love to see the information that Larry Wessels has on the security fraud done by Robert Morey to raise money to purchase 17601 Fitch Avenue, Irvine, CA. I believe I may know a bit of the story and someone who may know more of the story.

I had my second largest volume day today on my blog which means less traffic than yesterday. This is to be expected as everyone is getting tired of Robert Albert Morey. I expect traffic to drop unless there is some great discovery of new information; but I don't expect any new information to turn up in the near future.

No one seems to care about "California Biblical University & Seminary". It appears that the great plan of Robert Morey to give Liberals heart attacks by training a army of Bible believing Calvinist is simply ignored by God calling Robert Morey back to New York. Strange how God's call to start CBUS is suddenly abandoned by a call by God to go to New York. It appears that God simply changed His mind on this matter? Wait a minute, Robert Morey doesn't believe in a God that can change his mind on a calling!!!

Lately Robert Morey appears unable to finish anything he starts including publishing a book on "Natural Theology". Strange that Robert Morey planned on a semi-retirement from FCCOC in order to write books in California and now he suddenly has to fully retire from FCCOC in order to move to New York to write books. Another tall tale as far as I am concerned as I have never known God to call a person to move from California to New York in order to write books. Maybe I am not totally informed as to why God called Robert Morey to New York rather suddenly.

Teal'c says:

Someone should find out if Morey lost his home on Standish Ave. in Anaheim (where the church office supposedly moved in 2008) with the sale of the property on 17601 Fitch Ave.).

I also hope someone could explain what really happened. If Morey had to retire due to "life threatening" health issues, why not just say so? There is no shame in that. Also, no one has mentioned the church members that are left behind. Did the church just cease to exist because of Morey's departure? Are those people still banding together or are they now out searching for a new church home?

Ron Hodgman says:

Robert Morey appears to have made lots of money on the sale of 17601 Fitch Avenue, Irvine, CA to hotel developers. Approximately 4 million dollars per my estimate, but Larry Wessels believes Robert Morey may have made as much as 6 million on the deal. Per my research of Orange County real estate records, I believe it is safe to say that Robert Morey's claim that he put a second mortgage on his house in Anaheim in order to pay Faith Defender Church, Inc. or / and Faith Defenders Ministries, LP bills is another tall tale that is not true.

Something to think about is that Robert Morey refinanced the loan on 17601 Fitch Avenue, Irvine, CA in 2006 and it appears he may have gotten 1 to 1.5 million in pocket money as a result of that refinance to pay bills for awhile. Robert Morey may have been partly telling the truth that he got money to pay bills for awhile but it appears to have been the Faith Defenders building, not his house in Anaheim that was the source of that short term source of money.

Please do not worry about Robert Morey's house in Anaheim being foreclosed. Only if Robert Morey walks away from the property will it get foreclosed and I am sure he can sell the house really cheap fast and still make a profit on the sale. So he is not going to walk away from this house when he knows he can sell it and make a profit on the sale.

I am monitoring what happens to Robert Morey's house in Anaheim and I am sure it will have a new owner soon and Robert Morey will pocket some more money after all of the sale closing costs are paid. Robert Morey is very careful with his own money. He uses other people's money in a crafty way too.

You can monitor if Robert Morey has sold the house in Anaheim by doing online searches of the Orange County real estate records. However, a trip to the Orange County Clerk-Recorder office may be required to make sure the house was sold as Robert Morey is a somewhat common name in Orange County, CA.

Ron Hodgman says:

As to the question of what happened to "Faith Community Church of Orange County, Inc.", it is my understanding that it was closed on March 1, 2009.

As to what the faithful few left church-less by the closing of FCCOC will do I have no clue. FCCOC was part of the Robert Morey Empire and Robert Morey doesn't turn over any part of his Empire to another person. He closes businesses but he doesn't let anyone else run it. That appears to be his tradition as he closed all of the Nevada Corporations so I assume he will eventually do the same to the California Corporations.

Did he not transfer the money making FBN of "Faith Defenders" to "Research & Education Foundation"? Yes, so it appears that REF will continue to operate for awhile and the California Corporations will eventually be closed.

Teal'c says:

www.foreclosure.com lists 7 homes on E. Standish Ave. in Anaheim that are in foreclosure. One for bankruptcy and 6 for tax liens. Morey's situation could fit either case. I do believe it's possible that Morey may have lost his hide in this, due to poor money management, etc.

Posted On: Thursday, Mar. 5 2009 @ 10:36AM
Ron Hodgman says:

The www.foreclosure.com listings for E. Standish Ave. in Anaheim proves nothing.

I did an online search of the Orange County real estate records using my home computer.

As of 2/27/09 there is no evidence that Robert A. Morey's property on E. Standish Ave. in Anaheim is in any danger of foreclosure.

The only Orange County real estate record showing up for a Robert A Morey is Record 2008-00008078 filed on 01-07-2008 indicating that a lien against his property was paid off.

Please there is enough speculation about Robert Albert Morey without creating more. I stand by my claim that there is no evidence per Orange County real estate records that a foreclosure is about to happen to Robert Morey's house.

Posted On: Thursday, Mar. 5 2009 @ 7:11PM
Ron Hodgman says:

I post the following statement by Stephen Macasil in an email to me:

*Untrue. Foreclosure was never a threat to the Faith Defenders LP. The sale of the building had nothing to do with foreclosure. It was a clean sale and every LP investor received their initial investment back plus a phenomenal rate of return on the interest. To say that a tremendous return on investment is a curse is an odd way to put it. Most would consider that a blessing!

______________________

Per HighTower website; 17601 Fitch Avenue, Irvine, CA sold for 10.5 million. The mortgage on the properly was 6 million. That makes for a possible profit of 4.5 million. As to how much of this 4.5 million ended up in Robert Morey's pocket is unknown as the amount of money required to pay off the limited partners is unknown. The problem is that I have incomplete information but Larry Wessels appears to have information which indicates that Robert Morey many not have had any limited partners to pay off? I believe there may have been at least one limited partner as there is a hint in Orange County real estate recorders pointing toward a possible limited partner in Faith Defenders Ministries, LP. I am not sure that Larry Wessels is correct but I really have no evidence that he is wrong either. Since the general partner of Faith Defenders Ministries, LP is a non-profit called Faith Defenders Church, Inc.; it is my understanding but I am not a lawyer that California requires that full disclosure be done on the sale of 17601 Fitch Avenue, Irvine, CA. I will be discussing this matter soon with state of California representatives. If anyone knows the law on this matter, I desire to know what is the legal requirements.

Ron, you are right that no one cares about Robert Morey as much as you do. You are obsessed to an unhealthy level. You shouldn't be talking about things you don't know. You don't understand small businesses, you don't understand Morey, and you don't understand the state of the believers from FCCOC.

There is nothing sinful about DBAs. Tax deductions are good. Less money for the government, those baby-killing heathens. I hope that anyone who itemizes remembers to deduct their tithes and offerings.

Most of the old members of FCCOC already found or are in the process of finding a new church home. They aren't so obsessed with Robert Morey as you are to be able to not move on. The church just can't stand on it's own as it was mainly funded by FD in the past. You know nothing of what Morey has poured in. He's not perfect but that's the beauty of grace.

Posted On: Thursday, Mar. 5 2009 @ 10:26PM
Ron Hodgman says:

When DBAs are used in the way that Robert Morey used them, there is possible sin involved. I am not obsessed to an unhealthy level, I just desire that justice be done!!

Robert Morey in his greed for money, destroyed FCCOC. You sound like a Morey-ite. Why do you defend him? Robert Morey is a evil man that needs to be exposed for what he is and pay for all of his sins!

I want Justice!!!!!!!!

Ron Hodgman says:

The following tall tales from Lies-is-known-here:

* The church just can't stand on it's own as it was mainly funded by FD in the past.

* You know nothing of what Morey has poured in.

* He's not perfect but that's the beauty of grace.

Forgotten is the myth that Robert Morey put a second mortgage on his house to pay Faith Defenders Church, Inc. bills but that may be covered by you know nothing about what Morey has poured in [to stealing money from FCCOC].

Grace doesn't cover a unrepentant sinner!!!!!!

In Calvinism an unrepentant sinner is considered a person that probably is not born again. There is the understanding that a season of sin may occur after which there will be repentance if the person is born again. My Lutheran understanding of grace means a life of repentance not a life of plotting how to steal money or slander other Christians.

Morey's version of Calvinism is extremely cheap grace. Even Lutherans do not buy into the cheap grace that a typical Morey-ite defender of Robert Morey is marketing.

If Robert Morey had spent less time trying to figure out how to get rich, slander someone that knows too much about his latest get rich quick plan, and how to explain away something difficult to over up with silly arguments; FCCOC would have grown into a healthy church like the churches run by John MacArthur, John Piper, etc. All Morey has to show for his efforts is failure to establish a church in Orange county but I have little doubt he made lots of money.

The Bible makes it clear you are to judge by the fruit of a man's life. I am not impressed with the fruit of Robert Morey.

To cover up his stealing of money from Larry Wessels, Robert Morey came up with a complex story of how Larry Wessels had robbed him.

To cover up his stealing of money from FCCOC, Robert Morey has come up with a very complex story that I am having a difficult time believing.

Robert Morey needs to run his California operation per the Corporate laws of California!!!! If he has broken the law, God's grace doesn't keep him out of a California jail!!!!! You can see the contempt that this Morey-ite has for government and he probably believes that breaking California laws is no big deal since the government is evil anyway.

Perhaps OC Weekly should be offended, Stephen Macasil doesn't appear to be referencing this blog in this recent attack on those exposing Robert Morey for what he really is.

If anyone desires to rent Robert Morey's house, I understand a deal can be made as it is now empty. Robert Morey has left California and probably will rent his Orange County house because he wants a bit more for the house than the current real estate market will offer. As I believed, there is no danger of the house becoming another foreclosure per my sources. Robert Morey has sufficient funds to keep paying the mortgage, especially if he rents it. I have not verified this information but I am informed from a good source that it is true.

Barbara says:

OK. Someone please explain where Bob Morey came from. I attended FCC back in 2003. He made claims about being sent by his church in PA as a mission plant to OC. Then he claimed he and his wife just up and decided to come to OC. Which is true?
Who ordained this guy? What was the name of his former church? He claimed he was pastor there for 20 yrs. He ran a rather loosey goosey ministry as I remember - some stuff he said was useful but I was left scratching my head sometimes. All his radio shows were used to plea for money. I moved from OC to Humboldt County in 2005. Today I received a letter from Faith Defenders with a return address at POB 240, Millerstown PA 17062, yet the postmark indicated "Mailed from ZIP 92870." So he's still trying to collect funds for his "literature."
Can someone find out why he left PA and under what circumstances?

Victoria says:

I have known Dr. Morey personally for many years. I was on his "friends" e-mail list until recently, when I corrected him on his behavior (which I have done in the past.)

On the reason for his move from PA, I never bothered to ask. Apologetics author Craig Hawkins put it this way - "He makes a mess one place, runs, and makes a mess in another. That's his pattern." However...

I KNOW he had little money when he arrived in CA. An old van, an even older misbehaving Xerox machine, and he was teaching a week day class that I began to attend, at the old Hal Lindsey, Tetelestai building, which was being pastored by the Michelsons (Joanna is author of a couple of books.) Our class prayed for him to get funding for his radio show. I enjoyed his teaching immensely and saw the good side of this man. This is why so many people stand by him as they do. Unfortunately, he is on the arrogant side and his plea for money on his radio program made me cringe. Yet, my association with him was interesting.

I know at that time that I was told his publishing house had gone bankrupt and he had yet to be paid for his books. I was told at one point that his wife had an inheritance and this was used to buy their home in OC. Now they headed for New York with exciting prospects, I heard. Take that for what its worth.

What I DO know about him is that he has had a couple of heart attacks, and this is the reason I was given for his retirement.

Dr. Morey is not as bad as many of you are portraying him and yet not as good as some of you are portraying him. In spite of his abrasiveness and what seems to be greed, I do wish those whom Dr. Morey has helped financially would step up and defend him. My husband and I were treated to dim sum at his favorite restaurant one night and I will say this - his family is beautiful. His children love the Lord. His wife, Anne will defend her husband with her life.

I was there at the "fundraising" for FD, so I can almost bet there were financial partners.

I love the man, but I'm letting God work out the details in Bob's life. I have always told him the truth, unlike some of his sycophantic followers. It didn't help him to remain silent during his periods of unacceptable Christian behavior. Because I cared for him, I hesitated to hold him accountable at times. He doesn't take rebuke well and especially from a woman!

I think we will find the truth somewhere in the middle and I wish him well. There were many unanswered questions for me, but again, God will work it out.
