206px_DrBob.jpg*Updated, with new information on the bottom...

For the past couple of days, it's been quite the battle royale at Navel Gazing regarding Robert Morey, pastor of Faith Community Church in Irvine, and a guy whose flock is the most aggressively arrogant bunch of religious folks since the Scientologists. Here, we approve all sorts of criticism--but not so much at Morey's blog, BiblicalThought.com

Earlier, I commented about having my comment deleted at Biblical Thought by BT head lemming Stephen Macasil (and I wasn't the only one). Late last night, the site mysteriously went down. When it was back up, it was missing two posts: Morey's "The Need for Biblical Warrant" and Macasil's "The Gates of Hell," both blog posts blasting Faith Community Church defectors except written in the elliptical, evasive, nasty way that is the wont of Morey and his crew. Ah, but thanks to the messianic powers of Google, you can recall those posts from the dead: here is "The Gates of Hell," and a bit of "The Need for Biblical Warrant" here (if anyone can find the rest of that, I'll post it). So, Stephen: what gives?

*UPDATE: About a month ago, Morey told his followers not to read any criticisms. The Leader is good, the Leader is fine...

Whistle Blower says:

Those are not the only two blogs that have been deleted. Two others by Mario in regards to the current schism have also been removed, his post on Examining Yourself to See if You are in the Faith, and his post on Forgetting Those Things Which are Behind.

It appears that they have purged all conversations that are related to this current "situation" at FCC. Really, it's not about FCC, but about Dr. Morey. The people at FCC for the most part are good people who only want to learn and live the truth.

It seems that Morey is finally following his usual strategy on how to deal with "terrorists," namely, to ignore them and pretend that they never existed. This is the most effective and wise strategy on his part, since I have been following all of this, I have not seen Morey or the BT crew able to answer any of the charges brought against Morey.

Is there going to be any story in the OC Weekly magazine on any of this or is it just here in the blogs?

Stephen,

You don't have to delete those posts. We have collected up to the last comment. You think we are stupid not to have saved them? Send a comment if you need them back or if you accidentally deleted them =)

Morey and Me-A Short Story says:

Morey and Me: A true (short) story. One morning I was sitting in the Starbucks just down the street from Faith Defenders (FD) enjoying some quiet time before I taught a Sunday morning class at FD a.k.a. Faith Community Church. Morey walked in by himself and noticed me. He came over and asked what I was reading and I told him I was reading the latest journal from Jerald and Sandra Tanner regarding the errors of Mormonism. He then switched gears and stated that he wanted to have me and my wife over for dinner sometime and that he does not frequently extend such offers. I drew the meaning from this offer that I had at that moment been given an invitation to the “inner circle.” I was immediately repulsed and knew I would never accept. I smiled and thanked him and inwardly knew that my wife and I had already decided to leave the church and would do so at the conclusion of my class and do so quietly, which we did in a matter of weeks.

They don't always post every day. It's only been a day. Maybe they don't have any new material.

Today is only the second weekday since then. Maybe no one has any new material. They don't have to post daily. They do have families and jobs. Ah, i just checked and there is a new one up now. Give 'em time to write. Quality over quantity, right?

Gustavo Arellano says:

Ah, but they aren't approving comments they don't like, Becky. The censoring continues...

Jim says:

Unflattering comments are also being censored from their YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/FaithDefenders2008
I posted two comments critical of morey and they have recently been removed.

Jim says:

There is some evidence morey and/or his minions are also reading these posts on this web site. In a previous post on a different morey article, I refuted an argument by a moreyite who stated that BiblicalThought.com (BT) was not affiliated with Faith Defenders (FD) or Faith Community (FC). To refute him, I simply reported that on the Faith Defenders YouTube main channel page all three organizations (FD, FC, and BT) were listed under the “Companies” heading which would lead the reader to believe there is a relationship between these three organizations. Well, today I just noticed that under the “Company” heading two of the organizations (FC and BT) have been removed. The revisions continue and what is most interesting is the more exposure morey endures the revisions and deletions increase.

Posted On: Wednesday, Apr. 30 2008 @ 4:22PM
Becky says:

Some evidence? The names of the commenters match the names of the authors over at BT. Case solved. They aren't trying to hide they read here if more than one has had conversations in the comments. That's why this keeps up, right?

Jim,

Thank you for the information reguarding some of the deletions at Fd's utube, BT, etc. Some of us who are not on those sites often may no even notice those things missing. It is very suspicious that they feel like they need to delete things from their sites. Truth never needs to hide.

Morey and CO.,

If you guys, Morey and Co., are so confident that what you have written is true and good, then why not keep it all posted for everyone to see. Seems very suspicious to me.

Nicki

Still quiet in the Morey Camp. I guess silence is their best strategy. Just delete it and ignore that it ever happened. You can run, but you can't hide from God.

Joshua says:

Very true. BUT, his silence and constant threats toward those under his authority is also what will cause many to look into the massive evidence against him (even though he forbids them from doing so!). A guilty person behaves the way he does. An innocent person is honest, open, and will counter the evidence in public debate (which he has declined, of course). He is showing his true colors yet again. And yes, Morey should be fearing God at this point. Sadly, he is not. If he were, he would publicly repent for his crimes. He has been living in known, unrepentant sin for years and years. How sad it is that he refuses to stop intentionally hurting and abusing so many trusting people.

others have tried like Jim to post comments at http://www.youtube.com/user/FaithDefenders2008 and they are not being put up. the censoring continues by the crew at FD. What are they afraid of, the truth???? What does proverbs 28:1 say? It says, “The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion.”

i.e., a guilty conscience imagines accusers everywhere (see also Number 32:23; Psalm 53:5), while a clear conscience has boldness to face all. The guilty keep things hidden and secretive so no one will discover their dirty deeds (although God is watching). Why do shoplifters stuff stolen goods in their clothes, purse etc.? They don't want anyone to know the truth about their actions because of the consequences. Why fcc moron minions are still censuring the truth from being shown on their leader's dark schemes? it if is revealed their leader has been conning, lying to, and slandering saints the last 15 years, their world would cave in. They have to assume (denial) things are all on up and up at fd, fcc, bt. So sad they can't see the truth in front of them. so sad they won't properly investigate. Morey's about to reap his earthly reward he thinks. But we know Morey won't escape the One True God on this one. Maybe morey will repent and pay $ damages to those former fcc people he lied and slandered? but don't hold breath on that one.

speaking of that, i keep hearing many are getting blown away by the massive evidence out of Texas at www.putfile.com/lieutenantcolumbo/media

will morey try and censor this truth? all thru the years, morey could control information and people under his church umbrella. What's different now? The INTERNET HOLMES!!!! he can't control it. he can only control the blind who still follow at his footsteps of his dark shadow.

Sue says:

If there is any question as to whether or not a "schism" is going on or ever has gone on at FCC, you should check out Joel's Blogg at theocentricliving.blogspot.com

There are photographs of many, many ex-members of FCC who claim to have been wronged in some way by Morey. Or have left due to some major, unrepentant sin of Morey's.

Are these enough witnesses?
