LA Archdiocese Sex Abuse Settlement: The OC Connection

The Los Angeles Times is rightfully concentrating on LA-area victims in its coverage of the LA Archdiocese's record-breaking Catholic Church sex-abuse settlement. What's not being covered, however, is the Orange County connection. Named in the settlement are 14 priests whom the Diocese of Orange doesn't list as local predators since they sinned while Orange County was part of the LA Archdiocese (the OC diocese wasn't founded until 1976). And the Diocese of Orange roll call also doesn't include other priests who did the majority of their fondling in Los Angeles but were exiled to our parts as punishment. And, of course, no story on the LA-OC diocesan connections would be complete without mentioning the trade involving each area's most notorious pedophiles. Click and enjoy!

Thanks again to the OC Weekly for CONNECTING THE DOTS again!

There is another OC connection that was not mentioned - the fact that the LA Catholic Archdiocese, the Diocese of Orange and the OC Sheriff's Department share the same attorneys, Albert Ballog, Esq., Daniel R. Sullivan, Esq., Michael John Peffer, Esq. The firm name changes quite often; however, there is a definite pattern of shared connections.

There are many advantages to having the attorney law firm who represents one of OC's largest law enforcement agencies, the OC Sheriff, also represents Catholic institutions, the LA Archdiocese and Diocese of Orange, who together, have failed to report to law enforcement agencies sex crimes committed against children and vulnerable adults, for decades.

WHAT A DEAL for Bishop Tod Brown and Cardinal Mahoney.... killing two birds by sharing attorneys... no wonder sex crimes committed against the innocent were never prosecuted in a court of law.... WOW.... brilliant for those who care less about obstructions of justice, perjury and violations of legal conflicts of interest.
