KOCE Docu on OC Catholics Funded (Mostly) by Pedo-Spinners

hear_no_evil_2.jpgIt's still to be seen what exactly will KOCE-TV Channel 50's much-hyped documentary about Orange County Catholic life will contain (how much you wanna bet not a peep about the pedophile priests that terrorized county parishes for a quarter century?), but the Weekly can report that most of its principal funders helped the Diocese of Orange spin its sex-abuse scandal in one way or another.

The four sponsors listed for Matters of Faith (airing April 28th at 7 p.m.) are the law offices of Aitken, Aitken and Cohn; Robinson, Calcagnie & Robinson; Federico Sayre; and Tim Busch and his wife. Connect the dots between these firms and pedophile priests below!

*Darren Aitken provided legal cover for OC Blog proprietor Matt "Jubal" Cunningham back when Matt was outing sex-abuse victims without their consent.
*Tim Busch sought the advice of raping priest John Lenihan in starting JSerra High School
*Mark Robinson of Robinson, Calcagnie & Robinson (along with Darren's father, Wylie) helped Orange Bishop Tod D. Brown avoid juries in the diocese's original 2004 $100 million settlement.

The only sponsor with no ties to Orange County Catholic pedo-spinning is Sayre, but he should know better than to help out Brown. Last year, Sayre successfully reached a settlement for eight Las Vegas hotel workers who were forced to have sex with supervisors lest they get fired. So some sex predators are better to fund than others, Fred?

*UPDATE: Per Jubal's comment below, it's only fair to state he outed sex-abuse victims in a blind rush to defend his pastor, Monsignor John Urell, from...um, we're still trying to figure that one out.

I'm not surprised that's how you would put it, Gustavo. I have already addressed this issue, and you are being dishonest by implying I was intentionally outing anyone.

  2. Gustavo Arellano says:

Did you not out them without their consent? That's what I wrote--if you want to read into my comments that I'm implying something, feel free to do so. But, sure, I'll throw you a clarification--read above.

  3. Jubal says:

    Sigh.

You know very well why I posted the deposition, because I explained it in my subsequent apology. I wanted visitors to the blog to be able to read the deposition for themselves and make up their own minds. I stupidly failed to realize the victims names were not redacted, and when that was brought to my attention, I immediately rectified that mistake.

You don't choose your words carelessly, Gustavo, so don't play coy about what you are obviously trying to imply to readers -- that my intention was to publicize the names of clergy abuse victims. That's not true. You know it is not true. So to lead your readers to believe that's what I was trying to do is dishonest.

    Re: Matters of Faith

Dear Sponsors of Matters of Faith:

Congratulations on the upcoming release of Matters of Faith. There is no doubt the role of Catholicism in shaping the cultural and community landscape of Orange County, California, portrays dedication from many individuals with and/or without the resources needed to produce this type of documentary film. Thank you.

As a Catholic wife, mother, public advocate for abuse victims and mandated reporters, my faith has provided me with strength during life challenges. This letter is written with hope that the release of Matters of Faith will assist the public in understanding the need to continue efforts to protect children, employees, families and those who protect them.

As most are aware, when the clergy abuse crisis erupted in 2002, multiple crimes committed by employees of the Diocese of Orange and other religious institutions, were publicly revealed. Most of these heinous crimes were never reported to law enforcement and in the event crimes were reported, crimes were not investigated or prosecuted in a court of law, before the statute of limitations expired. It is my belief that politics and religious influence have enabled failures to protect and crimes against God’s most precious gift to the world, children and families.

As attorneys, you take an oath to uphold laws, truths and justice. Long ago, there was one attorney, or maybe a law firm, that advised a Catholic Bishop that freedom of religion privilege and separation of church and state meant that sex crimes did not have to be reported to law enforcement. This negligent legal advice (personal opinion of course), enabled crimes that destroyed lives for decades. It is the courage and public outcry of abuse victims, families and supporters that forced the truths to be told. It is my hope that influential attorneys like yourself and elected public officials, will assist in educating Orange County’s children, adults and families, free of any and all “rose colored glasses,” political, religious and government influence, in the interests of justice and the common good.

With respect, I ask that you consider anonymous sponsorship of Matters of Faith. Based on the recent federal indictment of the OC Sheriff, the OC District Attorney's refusal to prosecute employees of the Diocese of Orange accused of sex crimes and the fact that the same attorneys and law firms represent the Diocese of Orange, the OC Sheriff, County of Orange, LA Archdiocese and OC public school districts, the public's perception of the legal process, fair administration of justice and the ongoing efforts to protect children and those who protect them, must be protected to rebuild the public’s trust.

This request is made with the utmost respect and admiration for all you contribute to communities of faith, children and families. In the event you need additional information or supporting documentation, please feel free to contact me at (949) XXXXXXX(cell) or via email at bodkind@hotmail.com. Best regards.

    Saluti E Ciao America!!!

Whether I am 'deeply ashamed' or not, is not the issue.

Also cleaning up the seminaries, to 'prevent pedophiles from being ordained' is also a PR spin ploy, probably dreamed-up by Rog 'Mahal' Mahony, mutiple decade serial arch pedophile enabler.

The issue remains the lack of removal from office, canonical censor, and placement under house arrest (preferrably in a remote, cold, dark, damp, moldy, windy, bad food and forced hard labor monastery), or irrevocably each EXCOMMUNICATED, of many hundreds of guilty cardinals and bishops (Brown, Brom, Mahony, Walsh, Cummins, Soto, Weigland, Curry, Barnes, Steinbock, Burke, Rivera, Chaput, McGrath, O'Malley, MacCormack, Ryan, Law, McCarrick, Hubbard, George, Egan, Hummes, Pell, Egan, Pilla, Vlanzy, etc.) who have racked-up a bill for the laity to 100% pay, just in the USA, of $2.8 Billion Dollars, with no end in sight, and child endangerment still widely pervasive in the USA, and all over of the globe.

One need not read more than a few days of verified stories at:

    www.bishop-accountability.org/abusetracker

(including Matt "Jubal" Cunningham and other kool-aid drinkers)to KNOW, the curial criminal conduct, and ongoing criminal cover-up, remains at full throttle, in the institutional Roman Catholic Church.

After all laity, the main reason for my visit to America, is damage control, with deep pocketed Roman Catholic donors; and because The Holy Spirit is running the real show, the donations part of the trip is not working out very well at all.

As Brother Occum once postulated: "Invariably The Simplest Answer Tends To Be The Correct One".

Therefore, as your Pontiff, surrounded by many EVIL John Paul II (No Saint) appointed CROOKS, the simple answer, or solution, to this FILTH, is for ALL LAITY (where 100% of all Church revenue comes from)TO STOP DONATING ANY MONIES FOR ANY REASON, until the scurge of the earth, like Mahony and Brown, are ousted, or return to work in HADES, for their boss, Lucifer, Prince of Darkness.

Rome pretends to 'get' little laity, but moves swiftly when miters or red hats fail deliver to revenue, across the Tiber.

It is YOU laity who control the KEY to correction and the full punishment (true Christian Mercy) of the life time house arrest of these evil miters and red hats (any other venue would have these sold souls swinging by their necks from the gallows, maybe after a summary trial).

Go With God Laity, But Keep Your Wallets Zipped!

    Benedict XVI th
    Pontiff & sinner

Posto Scripto: I really like Gustavo's salient wit, and perhaps one day The Holy Spirit will see fit to have him canonized for his TRUTH and COURAGE, in the face of perverted evil, the like that of Tod 'Gay Boy' Brown and his evil minions.

  6. The Board Room Donkey Man says:

I've traveled most of the country and spoken to many people about abuse. I've testified for new laws to protect children from predators.

Across the country I find a lack of handling or mishandling of abuse by most people, institutions, churches, counselors, therapists, psychologists probation officers, judges, city attorneys, media and do gooders as your self Jubil. I've lectured in colleges on abuse and symptoms of abuse and how people are not able to address abuse issues for reasons that are deep seated and very personal to each individual.

But like no place in the USA have I experienced the complicity, cover up, looking the other way lack of knowledge about predators and continued trying to cover up abusive people’s pasts like in Orange County California. This is not to say it’s not happening just that I’ve not seen it this bad any ware!

Orange County my birth place is one of the worst I’ve seen. I'm sickened from what people are trying to hide, cover up, spinning pr guys, do gooders, without the knowledge of abuse and without the knowledge about predator’s behaviors.

The continued effort in Orange County, to try to get the public to look the other way!

Jubil I have news for you. Your guy that had his head buried in the sand for nine months is one of the kinds of people I'm talking about.

    Jurbil,
I'll accept your excuse on outing the names of the victims. It was so very self serving to your own views.

But have you no thought for others feelings? Your own point of view is more important than the truth. Your point of view has clouded the facts of what this priest has done or didn’t do in protecting children. Your attempt's to hypothetically assist a man you feel has done no wrong! You are doing more harm than good. Your ego is in the way. Set it aside and reevaluate the situation. If you can!

Hast at anything says more about what you have done and what your going to do in the future.

And I only say that because I've done the same thing time after time. I wish I could just think for a wile before I react as you have done with outing the victims names.

I've paid many of high prices for my mistakes.

Educate your self on abusive predatory people!

    Educate your self on enabling!

    You are an enabler!

  7. sick of jubal says:

    Jubal -

I know you won't see this, but you are the thinnest-skinned weenie of all time. You dish it out but you can't take it. Then you parse people's words ad nauseum.

But what I really don't get is the most hyper-critical man in the universe wears steel-belted blinders when it comes to his priests porking kids and his pastor covering it up.

    You make me sick.

Your pastor has done rotten things and got off scot free. Face it. You outed victims. Face it.
