Bishop John Steinbock is a Disgusting, Pedo-Priest-Loving, Hypocritical Sinner

Bishop%2520JTS.jpgGreatest-Religion-Reporter-Ever William Lobdell alerted me to the story of Diocese of Fresno Bishop John Steinbock removing Father Geoffrey Farrow from the diocese and his salary and health benefits for speaking out against the gay-marriage-banning Proposition 8 and coming out as a homosexual. That alone is a dick move, but Steinbock's rationale is stunning: in a letter to Farrow, His Excellency wrote “Your statement contradicted the teaching of the Catholic Church and has brought scandal to your parish community as well as the whole Church."

Scandal? Contradicting Church teachings? Perhaps Steinbock's getting senile and forgot that he's a prime target for such verbal lashes. Sex-abuse victims remember Steinbock for protecting Father Eleuterio Ramos, the most prolific pedo-priest in Orange County history. When Ramos admitted to Steinbock--then auxiliary bishop and Bishop Michael Driscoll (now Bishop of Boise) that he molested a boy while serving at St. Anthony Claret in Anaheim, it was Steinbock who suggested Ramos get sent to "vacation immediately" instead of turning him over to the cops; Ramos would go on to minister to children in Tijuana and never served a day in jail for molesting at least 25 boys. Steinbock also knew about pedophile allegations lodged against Richard Coughlin when the Archdiocese of Boston sent him to Orange but didn't do anything about them; here, Coughlin continued his boy-buggering ways.

And it was Steinbock who led a haphazard investigation into allegations that Orange Bishop Tod D. Brown (a classmate of Steinbock's at St. John's Seminary in Camarillo) had abused a boy while in the Diocese of Fresno during the 1960s.

Scandal? Contradicting Church teachings? That's the modus operandi of California's brother bishops, who did nothing to stop the pedophiles in their ranks but get hot and bothered when gays and lesbians dare assert their humanity. At this point, only a moron would follow the advice of California's Catholic leaders (note I attacked the hierarchy and not the faith, Papists). They tell you to vote for Prop. 8, Catholics? Do what Jesus would do--let the gays marry, and purge your Church of the true sinners.

Joelle Casteix says:

How horribly tragic for the hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people who were directly or indirectly hurt by Steinbock.

There are the victims, who experienced an unspeakable pain that still affects almost every aspect of their lives ...

There are the parents, who worried and cried over their silent, ashamed, isolated, self-destructive, victimized children, having no idea that Steinbock knowingly allowed their kids to be raped. Then Steinbock snickered about it, instead of calling the cops ...

There are the communities that were torn apart - people who refused to believe their priest was a predator - people who blamed the victims - people who carried guilt for not reporting what they saw - people who were punished for coming forward ...

All because of Steinbock.

How dare he speak of shame.

There is nothing more shameful, more hurtful and more inhuman than a man who allowed this to happen. Steinbock will have to answer to his god for this. I only hope that he is forced to answer to law enforcement first.

I personally urge every Catholic in Fresno to stand up, refuse to donate to the church, and demand that Steinbock be removed. If they don't want to do it for the victims, maybe they can do it for the future safety of their own children.

He brings shame on very person who enters a Fresno Catholic Church.

Mark Gauer says:

Will all gay Bishops please sit down! Part of the reason why the sexual abuse crisis continues in my opinion is that many bishops themselves are gay and are only concerned with protecting their own image. Just ask bishop Brom in San Diego who was involved in a gay orgy!!

Keep the spotlight on these hypocritical bishops, Gustavo! How sad this recent case is. God bless Fr Farrow for his honesty and courage.

Albino Luciani says:

It's-a time for another installment of a blog within a blog: 'ASK A MURDERED POPE?!'

Mark Gauer is'a correct.

The majority (that's-a 50% of more) of all bishops and cardinals are in the closet , practicing, or celebate, or former, homosexuals, and some are pedophiles themselves.

The reason the pedophile and minor sexual assaulters continue to get away with little punishment in the institutional Roman Catholic Church (5,000 have been "credibly accused" in the USA, of 44,000 ordained and vocationed, but that is the tip of the iceberg) is the bishops and cardinals may very well be black-mailed.

Let's-a not forget Rog 'Mahal' Mahony was also at the same GAY ORGY, at St. John's Seminary, in Camarillo (conveniently shut down and all records shredded), with Bobbie Brom...this is'a not rumor, it's-a in court recorded sworn depositions (multiple).

The solution? "STOP DONATING LAITY" as St. Peter Damien correctly suggests.

Until the evil red hats and miters CAUSING the ongoing diversion of billions of laity dollars, are each removed, each canonically censored, and each placed under life house arrest, or alternatively, each is EXCOMMUNICATED, nothing will improve.

No Curia Accountability? No Laity Monies! It's-a THAT Simple!

Albino , it's me again....Why can't we get these people in the pews to wake up to the hypocracy of the RCC? It's so sickening to see them defend the CC. There is nothing redeemable in the RCC but the Saints that truly didn't know what was going on. Once informed OF THE EVIL WITHIN THE CLERGY, you have become an assessory to the crimes commited! If you don't LEAVE IT AS FAST AS YOU CAN you too will be condemned. L & P "g"

john manly says:

Bishop Steinbock is a poor excuse for a bishop. While he was the Diocese of Orange acting bishop over 15% of the Diocese priests were actively molesting boys and girls. He can speak with no moral authority whatsoever. If Steinbock is voting yes on 8 then I'm voting no.

Sister Zelda says:

This dramatic incident has several angles. The proposition's goal is equal responsibility and benefit before the law for all couples. This is essential. Marriage is being used to define this legal relationship, not the best choice. Society rightly defines relationships.
The church however is responsible for ritualizing God's blessing on human commitments. It can bless or not bless whomever it chooses. The separation of church and state is tried in this election. It behooves all churches to attend to their own rituals. And to consider if their employment practices are in line with the values of their spiritual leaders.

Albno Luciani says:

G Sullivan, you are correct. It is a MORTAL SIN to be donating to the Criminal Curia in the RCC.

Sister Zelda, one cannot respect church office holders, who do not hold themselves accountable for their own past, present, and ongoing criminal actions (at 100% laity expense), and therefore all believers are morally obligated to cease donating to the insititutional church, until hundreds of guilty, unrepentant, and evil cardinals and bishops are removed, canonically censored, placed under house arrest (like serial pedophile founder of the Legion of Christ, Marciel), or alternatively, are each EXCOMMUNICATED.

"Do no deal in the fruitless deeds of darkness, but expose them!" St. Paul to the Ephesians, 5:11

"The only condition for the triumph of evil, is for good men (or women) to do nothing!" Edmund Burke

No Curia Accountability? No Laity Monies!
