Moorlach, NY Times Refuse to Acknowledge Moxley

Our former sheriff Mike Carona made the New York Times a couple of days ago, and the parachute dispatch was boring save for the last segment:

In recent years, however, local news outlets reported accusations of murky financial dealings and the misuse of public money and accusations of infidelity.

At the time, most officials disregarded such reports, said John Moorlach, chairman of the Board of Supervisors.

“Who knows?” Mr. Moorlach said. “At the end of the day, they might have been very accurate, and we may be coming to grips with that.”

Hey Moorlach and Times: it wasn't "local new outlets" that reported Carona's idiocies. It was the ORANGE COUNTY FREAKING WEEKLY. More specifically, it was our R. SCOTT FREAKING MOXLEY.

And Moorlach: we're ashamed of you. "They might have been very accurate"?! You of all people should appreciate Jeremiahs railing alone in the wilderness--for you to dismiss Scott's reports show how much of a hack you truly are.

  1. PUBLIC VOICE! says:

Maybe it is time to let OC's Board of Supervisors the importance of the OC Weekly's investigative reporting. Not only did Gustavo break open the secrecy of the clergy sex abuse crisis and Bishop Brown's ongoing failures to protect KIDS but Moxley's contribution to ridding this County of CORRUPT POLITICIANS obviously needs to be addressed.... maybe with a Motion by the OC Board of Supervisors at the next regular board meeting acknowledging the OC Weekly's contributions to public safety and civil rights in OC. PLEASE SEND EMAILS AT LUNCH AND SPREAD THE WORD and then post your communications here:

Shame on you John Moorlach!! You had no trouble acknowledging yourself and your contributions during the OC Bankruptcy fiasco. SHAME SHAME SHAME! Does anyone have an email address for the New York Times? Maybe the NY Times needs to hear from OC Weekly readers... THIS COUNTY IS A DISGRACE!

  2. Anonymous says:

Moorlach pretends he's somehow not connect to the Dark Lord Schroeder, but he is!

  3. warned says:

THANKS FOR THE WARNING.... the public is under the impression that Moorlach is one of those fair and equal administration of justice public officials.

  4. Anonymous says:

Look at how Moorlach was supposedly going to unload on the Sheriff for appointing Anderson and then turned around and showered him with love at the last Board meeting.

    Moorlach is pathetic!

  5. she told you so says:

You can fault the Register for burying its head in the sand, but you cannot fault the LA Times. For years, Christine Hanley hammered Carona relentlessly. The fact that the Carona administration refused to deal with the LA Times is proof that Hanley was right on target the whole time. About two years ago, I saw her in the middle of an OCSD retirement event handing out her business cards. She didn't wait for stories to be handed to her, she went out and hunted them down. Carona and his people hate her.
