--Prior to his arrest on federal bribery charges, Mike Carona confided his view of the world to a law enforcement colleague concerned about the Orange County sheriff's close friendship with Ed Grech, a local businessman whom the FBI had secretly recorded calling a major suspect in a narcotics trafficking investigation.
