« INDIEFEST/FAIF -- DAY 4 | Main | To Do Tonight - 11/05 »
Orange County Pastor Wiley Drake announced today that his church will conduct a prayer vigil at the Ronald Reagan Federal Courthouse beginning Monday at 5 a.m. in hopes of getting indicted Sheriff Mike Carona to "repent" for his sins.
Good luck, Wiley. You're going to need divine intervention.
Drake, the leader of an unconventional Buena Park church, must have some insight into the extent of Carona's mischief because the vigil will last for 5 hours.
In a statement, Drake also said he wants the public to pray for Carona's co-conspirators, their defense lawyers, prosecutors, the Orange County Sheriff's Department and, of course, "all members of the media."
I appreciate the concern.
Federal prosecutors, the FBI, IRS and a federal grand jury publicized their criminal indictment of the self-described Christian conservative sheriff on Halloween. At the center of the allegations is that Carona used his powerful public office as a means to illegally enrich himself, his wife and one of his mistresses. FBI agents also believe Carona--Calamity Mike, if you ask us--routinely subverted justice and honest administration of the $700 million-a-year department with 4,000 employees.
Drake's action will coincide with the morning of Carona's arraignment.
Last year, Drake was one of several folks who resigned from Scott Baugh's Republican Party of Orange County because they believed the sheriff was corrupt and that party hacks were protecting him.

Is Pastor Drake still providing shelter and protection for the only survivor (and his mother)of the Columbine HS shooting tragedy that occurred in April 1999? Pastor Drake obviously understands the seriousness of school zone violence, shootings and political interference with due process of the law. Does Pastor Drake believe that Sheriff Carona or his legally corrupt defense attorneys have protected politically-connected felons from criminal prosecutions in a court of law for too long, now placing the safety of children and the public at risk?
Does Pastor Drake have knowledge of the fact that the former principal's son from Santa Margarita Catholic HS escaped all penalties, probation and/or sanctions after exposing approximately 1850 children and school employees to a repeat Columbine HS shooting tragedy, in March 2001?
Is it possible that Sheriff Carona did NOT interfere with the felony gun charges that were filed against R.J. Hemenway and dismissed by OCSC Judge Robert Fitzgerald in March 2002? Afterall, Jaramillo and Cavallo both had children attending Santa Margarita Catholic HS. Was one of Haidl's free passes to get out of jail, the privilege he purchased from Sheriff Carona, in exchange for $1,000 a month?
Afterall, in OCSC Criminal Case No. 01SF0196, R.J. Hemenway (principal's son) escaped all moral and legal accountability for felony gun possession on a Catholic high school campus. And when OCSC Judge Robert Fitzgerald dismissed all charges based on youthful exhuberance and sealed the criminal file in March 2002, there was obviously some type of obstructions of justice--the shocking dismissal makes no sense.
It will be interesting to witness whether politics really does interfere with the fair administration of justice in Orange County. Judge Dennis Choate's son, Steven Choate, faces a criminal trial on Monday, November 5, 2007, for a misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs charge that has been pending in OCSC since December 10, 2006. NOTE: Orange County Superior Court Judge Dennis Choate supervised the Jeffrey Andrade v. Diocese of Orange lawsuit that paid Andrade (former Mater Dei teacher), an admitted sex offender $100,000, to dismiss his lawsuit. Sadly, the OC District Atty's office refused to prosecute Andrade for sex with a minor student, before the criminal statute of limitations expired.
Judge Choate also supervised the Michael Bodkin v. Diocese of Orange lawsuit that was dismissed on a "legal" technicality days before a public trial was scheduled in 2004. The same day that George Jaramillo was fired by OC Sheriff Carona the Bodkin v. Diocese of Orange was dismissed. Coincidentally, my husband Mike's 8 years of employment at Santa Margarita Catholic HS ended soon after Judge Fitzgerald dismissed felony gun charges against the principal's son in March 2002 and sealed the criminal file.
Despite multiple requests to the OC District Attorney's office, we still do not know if anything in the criminal file forced Santa Margarita Catholic HS administrators to not renew my husband's employment contract for a 9th year? The DA has refused to open the file for my husband and I to review, BUT, we have been told Diocesan attorneys have had full access to the criminal file of R.J. Hemenway. Does any of this mess relate to the fact that our son was the only EYE WITNESS to the felony gun possession of the former principal's son at Santa Margarita Catholic HS? Afterall, all other witnesses feared for their safety and withdrew as witnesses. Does anyone understand that the same Diocesan employees who failed to protect children from school zone violence in March 2001, also failed to protect and report sex abuse crimes committed against children while under the supervision of the Diocese of Orange?
Was this the work of corrupt legal defense attorneys representing the OC Sheriff, the Diocese of Orange, the LA Catholic Archdiocese and the County of Orange simultaneously? Was it the law firms of Sullivan & Ballog and McCune & Harber that have caused much of the corruption in Orange County? Or, is all the corruption related to the fact that Western State Law school graduates seem to get the high risk and/or political hot potato cases?
Only in the OC can we witness denials of due process of the law, perjury, legal conflicts of interest, failures to protect children and retaliation against employees who insist on reporting potential child endangerment, as mandated by law. Will Sheriff Carona's indictment finally expose the truths about ongoing interferences committed by corrupt attorneys licensed to practice law in Orange County? And, will the OC District Attorney finally start paying attention to investigating and prosecuting sexual predators supervised by the Diocese of Orange?
WHO WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR CLEANING HOUSE IN ORANGE COUNTY? Maybe Pastor Drake knows something the public doesn't.

From www.twistedbadge.com and reporter Steve Miller:
"Vegas expatriates who have second homes in Newport Beach include convicted felon Jerry Rizzolo associate of the Lombardo Organized Crime family, Mayor Oscar Goodman, Joey Cusumano, Gary Primm, Frank Fertitta Jr., Bruce Becker, Michael Galardi, Blake Sartini, Jan Jones, and Terry Lanni.
Observed in Newport and Laguna freeloading on the above Vegas to OC transplants include former LV councilman Michael McDonald, ex-Clark Commissioners Lance Malone, Erin Kenny, and Dario Herrera in exchange for their granting of political favors.
Last year the Orange County Sheriff's Office was taken off the list of agencies linked to a national law enforcement information base because it was suspected that Carona was sharing confidential information with Rizzolo and his Vegas Mob friends.
Carona was the sheriff who gave LV restaurant owner Freddy Glusman a badge that he later had to revoke after Glusman tried using it to intimidate a Laguna Beach coffee shop owner.
SIN CITY HALL SOUTH?
With Carona's help, Orange County has become 'Sin City Hall South,' a safe haven and meeting place for Vegas politicians, mobsters, and movers and shakers to get together at Glusman's Ritz restaurant in Newport Beach and secretly decide the issues affecting the quality of life of average Las Vegas residents."
It is many of these elements and strawpersons of organized crime families based in Chicago and Las Vegas, in which it has been established, have been attempting to corrupt the Office of the Sheriff of Orange County, see the guns for badges briberies, who have been seeking protection for their criminal enterprises and for establishment of those enterprises and racketeering government in Orange County. But indicted felon, Michael Carona I contend is only the tip of the iceberg of
perversion and obstruction of justice by government in O.C. In 2001/2002 the Citizen Grand Jury reporting on the state of organized crime, clearly established Tony Rackauckas as receiving bribes (which is defined as receiving something of value in return for an official action or lack of official action on part of a public official)from Patrick Di Carlo in return for calling of the Organized Crime Investigators of the Orange County District Attorney for simply enforcing the law into DiCarlo for one of organized crimes common rackets of securities fraud. And until these people are investigated, apprehended and prosecuted will the law abiding citizens of Orange County be free from the perversion of government positions into protecting crimes against the people, as the groups' criminal enterprises commit crimes against everyday, honest, law-abiding citizens.

It is now appearing that Sheriff Carona's indictment may be more serious than tax return issues, kickback schemes and bribery. Sadly, how long will the citizens of Orange County have to witness public officials play the blame game, pointing fingers at one another, pretending to care about fair and equal administration of justice? And, how long have elected public officials had knowledge of Carona's alleged misdeeds and his affiliations with organized crime?
It is obvious why Sheriff Carona, Cavallo, Haidl, Jaramillo, Schroeder, Rackauckas and many others continue leading the county with arrogance and above the law philosophies. They are all abusing power in their own personal domain while the citizens of OC pick up the tab for frivolous litigation billed and collected by corrupt attorneys and law firms, building personal and self-serving financial portfolios.
The quality of life in the OC..... this is a tragic time for citizens and families.
