Cleaner-burning trucks would also help the company--which serves parts of Orange, Los Angeles and San Diego counties--comply with the California Air Resources Board plan approved last week to reduce emissions by 15 percent over the next 12 years across every sector of the economy.
One CNG vehicle produces the same amount of carbon dioxide emissions as 100 standard vehicles, "so now, our 32 CNG trucks equate to 3,200 less cars polluting our air daily, or nearly one million cars removed off the roads every year," according to Jay Ware, Ware Disposal's general manager.
