Meet The New Dick, Same As The Old Dick

Because today would have been Richard Milhous Nixon's 94th birthday, I've decided to roll out something I was not prepared to roll out: TheNewDick.org. It's my new website/blog that strives to present all the ways the 37th president of the United States, despite being very dead, still manages to inspire, enliven and invade popular culture.

TheNewDick.org is inspired, enlivened and invaded by TheNewNixon.org blog, brought to you by the Richard Nixon Foundation. I highly recommend that blog, but the name brought to my mind an early Saturday Night Live skit where Dan Aykroyd, as the freshly resigned Nixon, excitedly tells cronies he will resurrect his image for a new campaign to win back the White House, unfurling a bumper sticker that reads, "The New Dick."

That got me wondering about a site that does what TheNewNixon.org does, only less scholarly and more pop culturally. 

Let me make this perfectly clear: TheNewDick.org is not affiliated with TheNewNixon.org, the Richard Nixon Foundation, the Nixon Center, the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace, Nixon Watches, Norm Nixon and especially not OC Weekly.
