​After years of refusing to spill the syringes, Mark McGwire admitted today to having used steroids on and off again for a decade. "I wish I'd never touched steroids," said the former big league slugger, via ESPN. "It was foolish and it was a mistake. I truly apologize. Looking back, I wish I had never played during the steroid era."

​OC connection: His brutally murdered ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, grew up in Garden Grove, where she attended Gilbert Elementary School, Skylark Elementary School, Hare Intermediate School and Rancho Alamitos High School.
