Jacko and Freedom CEO Flanders: Just Beat It

Not sure which stage of grief this falls under, but as the initial reports of Michael Jackson's death were coming out, what are assumed to be Orange County Register and/or Freedom Communications insiders were linking the King of Pop's departure from Earth with Freedom CEO Scott Flanders' departure for the CEO post at Playboy Enterprises. This all played out in the comments section of this OC Register Death Watch post on Navel Gazing:

Just Beat It at 6:13 p.m. Thursday: A story just crossing the wires out of West Hollywood states that Michael Jackson misinterpreted a statement made by Scott Flanders said off the record during the Folio interview that he welcomed the challenge of leading the King of Pop (who we all know as Hugh Hefner to his many blond girlfriends in the mansion Grotto community). Michael took that comment to believe that Flanders was about to screw up his gig. He knew if the black thumb of Flanders was going to manage him, he'd might as well check out sooner rather than later. Rest in Peace, Michael. At least you died fast. Working with Flanders would have been a slow miserable death.

Lt. Gregg Strenk at 6:57 p.m.: LAPD found this note inside the home where Michael Jackson's unconscience body was found this afternoon: ".....my angst started when that boot licker Scott Flanders started selling my albums and tapes for 1 cents when he was with Columbia House! I told him you'll ruin your company immediately and eventually you'll kill me. I mean, it was ridiculous. It was ridiculous! Why would Scott do this? He loved coming to Neverland Ranch and riding the ponies. He was incredibly funny! Really he was. Scott told me, just before he ran the paper company into the ground that when he took over Playboy, I could visit the mansion. I told him I was soooooo deep in debt and he replied, you want to see debt, let me show the Freedom Communications books since I took over and I'll show you debt you pedophile freak. It's so ridiculous, I don't know what why he said that.... Scott can be so mean at times....he he ....."

Scot Flanders at 7:05 p.m.: A statement from Scot Flanders on the apparent death of Michael Jackson: I'm a big believer in Michael Jackson's viability. That experience can't and won't be duplicated online, even where I see the music listener moving. What Michael is confronting is a recession and a heart that won't function. Jackson is having to shrink to grow in the future. I don't believe the King of Pop has lost his relevance. He's the largest celebrity in the world, including his Web site that generates over 3 million unique visits per month and almost 50 million page views. I believe Jackson will come back.

Scot Flanders again, at 7:12 p.m.: Did I mention I was HUGE fan of Farrah Fawcett? The joke around Fitch when I heard she died of ass cancer was that I was her "second" husband cuz when you factored in the money I stole...err... earned at Freedom coupled with the compensation I took from the various boards, I too was the Six Million Dollar Man!
