Labor Rally Chastises Greed of Chase and Bank of America

The reckless greed of Wall Street banks such as Chase and Bank of America has wrecked the American economy and kill American jobs, claims the Orange County Labor Federation, which leads noontime rallies today in front of branches of both banks in Santa Ana.

At the "Good Jobs Now Rally," members of the labor federation and "angry men and women" will "tell Bank of America and Chase to PAY UP!" reads an email sent by Priscilla Luviano, the federation's communications coordinator.

The fun begins at noon in front of the Bank of America at 1418 N. Main St. before shifting over to the Chase (and former WaMu) at Main and Washington streets.

"While working families lost jobs, homes, retirement savings and hope, Wall Street took $700 billion in taxpayer bailouts and went right back to business as usual," reads the email. "They choked up credit, handed about $145 billion in pay and bonuses to their executives who tanked our economy and hired an army of lobbyists to fight financial reform."

Did somebody say "fallout"?

"Our nation is 11 million jobs in the hole," the email continues. "Hard working Americans are angry, frustrated and fed up! We need good jobs now. It's time to make the big Wall Street banks pay."
