This Presentation is For the Birds

​Clockwork received an email from the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach with the above photo and a headline over it proclaiming, "Boys & Girls Club Members Learn About Local Birds."

That would be an extremely rare Wide-Tailed, Sharp-Beeked, White-Throated Coastal Loon the kids in the shot are learning about. My, what large talons that raptor has! Now wonder the girl with the binoculars is keeping a safe distance.
