Obama Adds Laguna Beach Fund Grab, Palm Springs Getaway to UCI Commencement Visit

It's a banner year for the University of California at Irvine.

President Barack Obama will stop by Laguna Beach for a fundraiser on his way to give UC Irvine's 50th anniversary commencement address in a Southern California swing that is bookended by a Palm Springs getaway with his wife Michelle.

Barack Obama UC Irvine Commencement Protest Part Deux: This Time It's the Birfers

Here's how the trip breaks down, according to the Democratic National Committee:

- After the Obamas visit an Indian reservation in North Dakota on Friday, they will travel on to Palm Springs.

- Early Saturday morning, the president first heads to the coast to attend a roundtable discussion at an undisclosed location in Laguna Beach where about 25 supporters will have contributed up to $32,400 each for the privilege.

- Later Saturday, Barry moves on to Angel Stadium in Anaheim, where Obama delivers the "Special All-Graduate Commencement Ceremony" address for UCI students and their guests, who start arriving at 6:30 a.m., although the program does not officially start until 11:30 a.m. Separate graduation ceremonies for individual schools on campus will have been held before and after Saturday. Fifty years ago, then-President Lyndon Johnson spoke at UCI's dedication ceremony.

- Obama will leave Anaheim to reunite with his wife at their undisclosed getaway location in the Palm Springs area. It's unclear whether the girls will be with mom and dad.

It will be Obama's third visit to the desert oasis during his presidency (that we know of, heh-heh ...). He met with King Abdullah II of Jordan in February at the Sunnylands estate in Rancho Mirage, which is the same place the president met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in June 2013. Obama played golf with friends during both weekends.

This is apparently Michelle Obama's first time back to the Coachella Valley since she attended former first lady Betty Ford's memorial service in Palm Desert in July 2011.

Oh hell yeah Lyndon Johnson and Obama - way to go UCI. Two friends of the military industrial complex. Dropping bombs from Vietnam to Yemen. Let's invite more genocidal maniacs to talk to our kids about the dark future of more global warfare and destruction of American rights.

White self hating racist leftists have made it clear that Obams can destroy America as long as he angers freedom lovers

Former University scholarship UCI student here. Maybe when Constitution clueless Obama finishes he can swing on by Anaheim/Garden Grove and ask Loretta Sanchez and the LA FBI why they were criminally and willfully negligent in protecting this Latino and his family from #donaldsterling racist garbage masquerading as law enforcement integrity in OrangeCounty CA.

This current cowardly crowd is no LBJ or JFK. Hoover seems to be alive and well though.

#donaldsterling?????   Does that mean your girl has also been dating big mandingos and you are embarrassed if if your friends find out?

@18usc241 You are boring, no one cares about what supposedly happened to you years ago, please move on.

Blah blah blah. Get a passing grade at CSULB's advanced engineering mathematics class like this Latino and then I'll be interested in your opinion.

Weak bait. Try again.

yep, the American people (especially blacks and Hispanics) wouldn't be interested in knowing how racist murdering sociopaths acting like cops deliberately decimate Latino men here in Orange County CA. The happiest place on earth and home of Mickey Mouse.

Yeah you are correct. So move along. Everything will be OK.

@18usc241 Uhm, OK, FWIW. I have hired BSEE engineers from CSULB and they got the job done. I've also hired latino engineers (one of who walked across the border and turned himself into a kickass engineer). But I don't believe in diplomas as a measure of a person's ability. Or race. It's the ability to communicate, have perspective and see the big picture, work hard, teamwork, take the blame when you are wrong and make things right.

I'm the boss because I have an engineering degree and a math degree from a school far, far higher ranked than LB. Execution and theory. And the ability to handle business and operations and finance and legal and HR and manufacturing and sales and dipshits and...

If you have those abilities above I'll get you an interview somewhere good.

@18usc241

nothing and I mean nothing has decimated latino and black men more than the

Dem "love " of welfare

we wont even include the Dem Eugenics "project"

Let's just say I have enough software / hardware design skills to impress American engineers who WERE Saturn/Apollo/GPS (but not before battling Hitler in the Italian front). And your law enforcement community here still (in the words of classy ex-Fullerton cop Ramos) "fucked me up".

Your law enforcement community still relentlessly harasses me. So I need to resolve that before I can be of value to someone in the engineering profession again. As for my résumé, Google "German Santos patents Anaheim Hills". Surveillance state engineer since before 9/11.

If I'm not mistaken there are more white people on welfare than Latino people. There are more white people on welfare than black people. And that's simply because there are more white people. So when you opine about the virtues of welfare, please don't conveniently exclude your own race.

Patiently waiting for my fellow Americans to not be so damn ignorant or racist or both.

This Latino guy studied French in the same $50,000 to attend private Catholic military High School as Justice Antonin Scalia. I think he studied Latin. It's why ex- Garden Grove Mayor

Dalton and current Mayor Bruce "the bulldozer" Broadwater couldn't answer me when I posed the following question at the podium of the GG city council: how criminally racist did ex-police Chief Stan Knee have to be to treat German Santos like he was some sort of violent Latino gang member? No response but plenty of looks like they wanted to eat me.

Thanks for the French lesson but I already knew that by the early 80's. Bonjour!

@18usc241 You're very impressed with yourself, aren't you?  Perhaps a bit delusional?

You repeatedly reference (in almost every single post) something nefarious you believe law enforcement did to you, yet you've never told the story.  I've Googled you an an effort to find out, but the only things that turn up are vague allegations by you made during the public comment portion of public government meetings.

Will you please post somewhere a comprehensive summary of all of your allegations so that curious readers and those you annoy can understand your points a little bit better?  Because right now, it's all falling into the category of "Ramblings of a Mad Man".

@18usc241 "Surveillance State Engineer"?

perhaps "The Officer" in Kafka's "In the Penal Colony" was not a unique character.

u assume I am white which means you stereotyped

that non whites would never take a "white" persons position

you lack of worldly knowledge is defined

people of all races are racist

there is a self survival instinct which is not discussed b/c it would then move the issue away from the anger and politically charged nature needed to keep people voting for the lefts agenda

Your comment is fascinating. You start off with the word delusional and end with "ramblings of a mad man". In other words your cowardly way of saying I'm crazy. AKA the same old J Edgar Hoover trash attempt at discrediting the victim.

And here is what makes your comment fascinating: you call yourself "Equal Justice For All". In other words, while discrediting a victim of disgusting police abuse, you are simultaneously "equal justice for all". Very Orwellian - the exact opposite of what you purport to be - just like Bernie Madoff, a pedophile priest or a criminal cop.

Six figure frequent flyer miles. Want some? From Bogota to Paris to Shanghai.

"u assume I am white which means you stereotyped"

You are lecturing me on racism - Ok - lol. The only reason I refer to white male racist sociopaths in Orange County, CA - because that's the human garbage that caused me irreparable harm. I never said there weren't racists in every race. I'm assuming a certain level of intelligence here amongst the readership - aka always my mistake.
