Someone failed to post this special Cinco de Mayo "don't drink like a fish" message, so we're resurrecting it five nights later.

The Tustin Police Department's Traffic Unit holds a DUI/drivers license checkpoint and the Orange County Sheriff's Department's DUI Task Force will be out in force in Mission Viejo, Lake Forest and Rancho Santa Margarita tonight.

The Tustin operation runs somewhere in the city from 8 tonight through 3 a.m. Saturday, when officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment and proper licensing. They swear delays will be kept to a minimal.

Sheriff's deputies man (and woman) special saturation patrols in the aforementioned cities, where they will be on the lookout for drivers who have been boozing or drugging. This is scheduled to run from 7 tonight through 3 a.m. Saturday in areas of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest and Rancho Santa Margarita "with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests," according to a sheriff's statement.

Funding for the sheriff's and Tustin Police programs come from grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
