Not in honor of Cinco de Mayo this time but SanTana!

Santa Ana cops say there will be a DUI/drivers license checkpoint from 9 tonight through 3 a.m. Saturday. Where? Read on ...

It's going down in the area of 1100 W. First St., where I swear they held one a year or so ago because I drove through a sobriety stop thereabouts after leaving an event where I had the usual "two beers."

No tickie, no hassles, tho!

Funding for the op comes from a California Office of Traffic Safety grant, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

That's funny but I was seeing lots of ads in jobs in Mexico. Mexico is really developing in the larger cities. Ads for Russian Translator and dancers in resorts, tech jobs, part time call center jobs. Most folks in Santa Ana come from the poor rural areas of Mexico. SO, if Baja and Sonora are developing taking factory jobs now from China because it will become cheaper by 2015 to make things in Mexico, poorer Mexicans might go to sell items out of pushcarts in major Mexican cities than Santa Ana or Anaheim or LA. Also more folks with money in Mexico means more restaurants to hire cooks or work part time in Walmart. In fact Pew Hispanic had an article were immigration is slightly down. Lots of immigrants coming from Mexico or Central America these days are going through El Paso. rather than San Diego or Tucson Az. since more of them are Central Americans gets a more direct route. Watched Santa Ana finally dropped its foreign born by 10 percent in 10 to 15 years because of reduce traffic from Mexico. This time I think Mexico and Latin American countries are developing more than in the past because of all these job categories you would not see 10 years ago.

Funny how checkpoints like these are never found around Irvine Spectrum.... Plenty of drunk people hopping right on the freeway and never been so much as looked over.

Police officers always let people know where the major check point is they never tell you about the 25 police cars posted on every street surrounding the checkpoint

Jennifer, perhaps you should direct your comments to the OC Weekly. They are the ones that posted the warning on their blog.

Ride with Uber which is a ride share service instead of getting a DUI. If you use this code you get $10 for free. uber.com/invite/48tl5

Hopefully impounding and arresting the unlicensed, uninsured and undocumented.

As long as they're actually looking for drunks and not cars with expired tags...

OC Jews?? Jews put up the cameras? Or as in "jews better pay jur teeek-it." Are you sure it wasn't the brown people or the whities? Jews, huh? Did you see a pack of em installing the flashy bulbs? How about this....how about you, oh, I don't know, say STOP at the red light? Then the flashy things wouldn't take your picture and you wouldn't have to give the racketeering Jews all your denero.

@robincook

Yes. My registration is paid but I'm having trouble smogging my car. But my point is that the police at sobriety checkpoints are supposed to be concentrating on looking for drunk drivers...and how many drunks would they have let drive past so they could issue me a ticket or impound my vehicle? One is too many.
