ICE Special Agent Admits Guilt In Lengthy, Immigration Bribery Scheme

briberyUScustoms.jpg
A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) special agent today admitted guilt for his role in a bribery scheme that illegally funneled confidential Department of Homeland Security records to a Los Angeles immigration lawyer, doctored information in secret databases and sanctioned sham marriages involving foreign nationals.

Inside Orange County's Ronald Reagan Federal Courthouse, James Dominguez changed his original plea from not guilty in front of U.S. District Court Judge Andrew J. Guilford, a move that will likely win him a reduction in punishment.

Dominguez, a Ventura resident, faces a maximum punishment of five years in prison, a three-year period of supervised probation as well as a $250,000 fine.

The plea deal was a bargain for the special agent, who only admitted to making false statements.

A federal grand jury also accused him of defrauding the U.S. by accepting bribes beginning in 2001 from immigration lawyer Kwang Man "John" Lee, himself a former U.S. immigration official.

Those bribes included expensive gifts, televisions, computers and three, all-paid vacations to Thailand, according to the May 2013 indictment.

Others charged in indictments were:

--Jesus Figueroa, supervisory officer at United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS);
--Paul Lovingwood, former USCIS officer;
--Michael Anders, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officer; and
--Mirei Hofmann, a Japanese native seeking citizenship.

Dominguez remains free from custody on a $5,000 appearance bond and must return to court in Santa Ana on August 11 for sentencing.

I may not necessarily agree with Mr. Jim Gilchrist on the HOW to fix our broken immigration system; however, I agree with him that those found guilty in this case should have received far greater sentences...at list 20-25 years.

I would also differ with those who portray Mr. Jim Gilchrist as racist.

Let's call out racists, and bigots when it is deserved.

If anyone is advancing the false and discredited notions of racial, ethnic, and religious supremacy...then they deserve the "Bigot" label; and in my opinion, they are demonstrating their own insecurities.

P.S.  Thank you for your military service Mr. Jim Gilchrist.

Dear Readers,

Some posters here may interpret the indictment of some of these defendants as some kind of racist agenda against non-white people.  That is because that kind of person always wants every motivation for every action to be a racist act.

The article here goes right to the heart of the issue: allegedly corrupt members of the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), regardless of their different races, colors, or creeds.  The defendants are Hispanic, Caucasian, and Asian. That's a pretty good multiethnic enforcement of the law, if you ask me.

With members of immigration law enforcement like these clowns on the payroll, no wonder U. S. immigration laws are so abused.  These jokers are as bad as a crooked politician.  They really deserve 25 years to life, including the non-law enforcement members involved, in my opinion.

LE agencies got pilloried for lack of diversity.  Now that they are filled with POC, they have to deal with the endemic corruption  that goes with it.

@jimgilchrist You are exactly right. It's been my experience that those who call others racist or pull the race card are usually the real racist.

@jimgilchrist

The "racist agenda" I'm protesting here is downtownbrown's...he's the one who's claiming that non-whites are a "corrupting" influence on all us poor, innocent whites.

And your praise of "multi-ethnic enforcement" rings hollow considering YOU are a walking, talking "racist agenda"...

@fishwithoutbicycle @jimgilchrist   Dear Fish Bowl,

Yank your head out of your toilet bowl and I will be glad to respond to your ignorant rant.  Until then, you are hopeless to carry on any kind of intelligent discourse.  If the shoe fits, dumb bigot..…

My comments were directed at the village idiot, Muhammed.  Not you, You're not that important.

@rscottmoxley

Perhaps he doesn't realize that even an articulate bigot is still a bigot...?

But he reminds me of a much less articulate fellow on another blog who accused me of being a "bigot" for expressing my "intolerance" for his abject hatred of gay people... ::rolls eyes::

Oh, come on!  I am not that important.

Stop putting me in the same league as Tom Hanks, Lady Gaga, Oprah Winfrey, and Rush Limbaugh.

I appreciate that you think of me in such a heralded manner, but I must testify that I am simply an imperfect mortal.  I do not soar with the eagles of notoriety.  But thanks for the thought, anyway.

Happy Easter!

@fishwithoutbicycle @Muhammed  @jimgilchrist Jim Gilchrist is an angry, bitter man and publicity hound, determined more than anything to see his name in print. That "accomplishment" makes him feel better as he looks back on his life and frets about a long list of pathetic failures that make him one of OC's leading anti-Latino bigots.

@jimgilchrist

Thank you for the laugh, my dear Mr. Gilchrist.

"The Minuteman Project"...sounds like a therapy group for "one-pump chumps".

As you can see, the lack of respect is mutual. Good day.
