African American Employee: Orange County Sheriff's Department Is Cesspool Of Racism

ocsddiscrim.jpg
Heil Hitler salutes reported inside OCSD
Describing the Orange County Sheriff's Department (OCSD) a cesspool of racism and the playground of incredibly juvenile thugs, an African American employee is suing and has won an October trial date.

Jeffrey Robinson, a correctional services technician in the OCSD's inmate services division, claims he is "subject to ongoing harassment and discrimination by fellow employees and supervisors" because of racism and that he complained about alleged abuses.

According to Robinson, he is "continually treated" in a "disrespectful, discourteous, harassing and hostile manner."

He claims he's had to endure OCSD co-workers:

--Giving him "Heil Hitler" salutes;
--Driving nails into his vehicle tires;
--Sending sexually explicit material to his email account;
--Farting close to him while he's eating lunch and then asking how his food tastes;
--Calling him derogatory names;
--Ordering him to keep his mouth shut; and
--Placing "I Like Dick" stickers on his vehicle.

Humiliated, Robinson said his complaints were greeted with retaliation when his boss placed an official reprimand in his personnel file after he confronted another OCSD employee about the continuing abuses.

Robinson believes the harassment has been designed to force him to quit his job.

Master race ideology exists inside OCSD?
California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing okayed the filing of the lawsuit.

This month, Superior Court Judge Peter Wilson ordered a mandatory case settlement conference for September and, if unsuccessful, a week trial in late October.

Last year, OCSD lost a lawsuit filed by a fired deputy who claimed the department's management allowed deputies to discriminate against him based on his military service as a U.S. Marine, who fought in the Battle of Baghdad and won the Navy Cross for life-saving heroics.

In recent weeks, Latino cops inside the Westminster Police Department won their federal lawsuit that alleged department management systematically gave white cops better opportunities to advance to high ranking positions.

If this ever makes it to trial, the other officers' behavior will be defended as "Simply locker-room behavior."

Other factors notwithstanding, the examples of behavior he provided are childish, sophmoric and certainly worthy of the term harassment, but I'm missing the racist element. Did he say that these actions were directed at him because of his race? Did he state how he came to believe the reason for this behavior was based in racism?

They're human just like us. We have our good and bad days at work. We dont all get along with co-workers sometimes. But at least we show respect during the work hours.

Does anybody actually believe the claims by Mr. Robinson:

He claims he's had to endure OCSD co-workers:

--Sending sexually explicit material to his email account;
--Farting close to him while he's eating lunch and then asking how his food tastes;

Yeah right.

Typical sheriffs dept. they need a huge overhaul personnel wise top to bottom. Why is it they feel the need to be so douche, can't the OC find any decent human beings to wear that uniform.

By the way Mrs. Law Enforcement Integrity Sandra Hutchens, did you ever investigate why that Asian male trash bag of a deputy threatened me with hospitalization a couple of months ago? No. That's why you are exactly like Mike Carona and Brad Gates - a felon.

I'm happy to inform the people of Orange County, CA that the master race turned out to be master morons and cowards. American history is not on their side.

I think this is a problem you'll find at ALL law enforcement agencies. And it's not limitied to racism. Sexist and homophobic behavior is rampant as well. Anyone who thinks otherwise (ie blog posters like sweetliberty17761776) is an ignorant fool with their head in the sand.

Sadly, I don't see this changing very much. There are many factors involved: The type of person who becomes one, the culture that further separates them from humanity once they get there, and the tradition rich history of being arrogant and out-of-control with no checks in place to curb their outlandish behavior.

It happens too often for anyone to treat this as new. The system is corrupt from the top down and everyone turns a blind eye. especially those in power to make a stand and put an end to the tyranny.

racism? or just bad behavior that needs to be punished!?!

racism, while the definition of course has been expanded to insane pc proportions, is one acting / believing their race makes them superior

examples:

asian thinks he can beat all others in math ( or pingpong:)

black person thinks they can beat all others in basketball or tries to make others think he is well endowed

white person thinks they should get a job just b/c

being called names is not racism

thats just a pc acceptable "law" these days

IF HE IS TELLING THE TRUTH

PUnish those who drove nails into his tires and to his boss who never (?) reprimanded those who made his life unpleasant after he asked them to stop

@BobLoblawsLawBlog

In my opinion the Nazi salutes were definitely racist...because Hitler's twisted vision of a "master race" excluded black people as well as Jews...and gays...and anyone else that monster arbitrarily deemed as "unfit".

@18usc241 Don't confuse ideology with intelligence.  Actually, the Germans were quite technically advanced: Rocketry, radar, and jets in WWII. And who were the minds that were greatly responsible for the successful Apollo missions?

18usc241

Specifically I'm referring to the fact that Orange County, CA law enforcement are adherents to the "Big lie" propoganda technique advocated by Adolf Hitler in his book Mein Kampf.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Lie

As an example: someone told a big lie(s) about me German Santos in the 1990's and it caused four generations of OC law enforcement to leap head first into hell. And the fact that this Latino man's first name is German and the criminal act(s) occurred in German town USA makes this story as creepy as hell.

And if the people of Orange County CA had any dignity they would demand answers since a lot of your tax dollars were tossed overboard.

Brainwashed_in_church

As a thinking guy, I'm wondering why you're disgusted based on an OCWeekly article which has only printed claims of allegedly committed harassment. These claims must not carry a lot of validity: the OCWeekly is the only "news"  source printing this (as provided by a google news search). Do you honestly think these claims are true - because of racism?

And when they are not punished - more racism from the racist assholes above them (Sandra Hutchens). Layer upon layer of filth. How do think the bottom pond scum layer gets away with it? They've gotten away with it for decades because the top layer is as pond scumy as the bottom layer. This is not rocket science.

"who were the minds that were greatly responsible for the successful Apollo missions?"

I'll tell you who Mr. brainwashed_in_church (trying to keep from ROTFL) my two American bosses Mr. Mercadante and Mr. Ashley. WW2 hero, former Rockwell Engineers who participated in the Apollo and Saturn space programs and deployed the first GPS satellite constellation. White American men who respected me as much as I respected them. Then white trash wannabe Nazi nimrods like Stan Knee/Brad Gates/Randall Gaston intruded and tried to treat me like I was some sort of Latino gang member.

I, too, have seen people give that salute to mock authority figures they perceive as extremely strict. However, regardless of context, I don't like it and folks shouldn't do it. It's utterly disrespectful the victims of the Holocaust and their loved ones.

This is a very strange case! I find it hard to believe not just cops but anyone treating a fellow employee like that! It's way too weird! And on the other hand, what a gamble to bring forward allegations like these if they aren't true! I guess my number of 70-80% of cops are natural born A-Holes could be rising!

@18usc241  There is always two sides to every story and we have only heard one so far.  If the man was harassed and discriminated against by the Deputies and their Supervisors, he deserves to be compensated.  If he was merely a disgruntled employee who is making up stories, he deserves to be fired.  Let's see how the law suit shakes out, although the insurance company will probably settle since it is less costly than going to trial.  That of course rarely gets to the truth and makes the Officers look guilty.  Such is life.

hitman_martinelli
hitman_martinelli

@18usc241, @Brainwashed_in_Church, You are both right! Rockwell and Wernher Von Braun, who was a World War II German Rocket Engineer who we brought back along with a couple other German Engineers and recruited them to help with our space programs. He helped design the Saturn 5 Rocket Booster that was used on the Apollos that Rockwell built.

Let their be no mistaking, the Germans were a very superior race in the sense they were very very aggressive. Maybe too aggressive for their own good! German scientist were always one step ahead of the allies but Hitler's inpatience hurt their chances of complete superiority. And his hate for jews didn't help either. Afterall, it was the outcasted Jewish Scientists who helped us with the atom bomb!

Could you imagine if Hitler had it first? We would all be speaking German right now! And surely wouldn't have the freedom we have now!

Sorry for getting off the subject, but World War II facinates me to no end!

Please, get back to Cops fighting Cops!

It turns out that Jim Keysor, the former San Fernando Valley assemblyman who introduced the "Peace Officers' Bill of Rights" legislation in 1976 now recognizes that this legislation was a mistake. The law has been perverted by pervert cops.

http://m.ocregister.com/articles/-225344--.html

By the way, Jim Sensenbrenner - the dummy author of the "Patriot Act" also now recognizes that his law was a mistake as well.

Moral of the story: stop putting the police and intelligence communities on a pedestal because they are just human and can screw things up in spectacular fashion.
