Los Alamitos-Long Beach Hit with 2.7 Quake

earthquake-image-square.jpg
An earthquake measuring 2.7 on the Richter scale just shook the area bordering Los Alamitos and Long Beach.

Did you feel it?

The time of the quake was 3:08 p.m.

It comes one week after last Monday's 4.4 shaker in the San Fernando Valley.

No, it doesn't. There are hundreds of earthquakes that don't get reported every day in southern California.

I felt it in my long beach apt and knew immediately it was an earthquake.

I probably would have felt it if I'd gone to work today, since I'm close to that area. living in Anaheim, I felt nothing.

I was eating lunch in my car right next to the Long Beach airport runway and all of a sudden it hit me … I don't have a spoon for my pot pie. Oh the earthquake was mild. A little bump and that's it.

My friend in west Westminster really felt it. I, however, felt nothing in east Orange.

Yes I felt it and it felt a lot bigger I think because it was so close to home. It was really just a huge quick jolt

Ooh a 2.7! Better watch out Matt, it might knock your Iphone off the charger if it gets to a 3.

I'm embarassed for the person who actually posted this as news.

Every earthquake gets reported small or big. Some people can get a heart attack over a small quake.

It may have been an explosion at the AES plant.  There was a loud audible boom a second or two before the sharp jolt.  It would explain why just a 2.7 quake was so noticeable.

SoCal is getting soft on quakes. Last week a 4.4 was major news and now this? Used to be you had to get over 5.0 for anyone to care.

I felt it big time, but it was right where I live. It felt like a bomb went off.

A 2.7? Geez Matt, I've had farts that measured higher on the Richter scale than that!

A 2.7? Is it even possible to feel an earthquake that small? Wouldn't that be the equivalent of hearing someone play the piano from 69 miles away?
