See the update at the end of this post with images of and more details on Brea's flasher.

Irvine flasher
ORIGINAL POST, MARCH 14, 6:05 A.M.: The Irvine flasher may have struck again, and now police have released a sketch of him in color (at right).

Meanwhile, the Brea Police department is looking for a guy who likes to show off his naughty bits in retail shopping centers, including one in Irvine.

Hey, wonder if they are both looking for the same ...

Irvine Flasher Preys on 15 y.o. Girls, Has Been Trying to Show Off His Junk Since Jan. 17

Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, a man matching the description of the dude who has been flashing his nekkid bits at schoolgirls in Irvine since at least Jan. 17 approached a 12-year-old girl walking home from her school in the area of Paseo Westpark and Hearthstone, according to Lt. Julia Engen, the Irvine Police spokeswoman.

He asked for directions to a community pool but when the girl continued walking without talking to him, he followed her to her residence and tried to continue talking with her even after she shut the door behind her. No indecent exposure or attempt to make physical contact with the girl occurred but, like Engen mention, he and his vehicle matched the descriptions from the previous incidents.

Around 2:30 p.m. the day before, on Monday, a man pulled his pants down in front of a woman in the Brea Mall, which may not be so unusual if it was, say, his wife as he was trying on trousers in the dressing room. In this case, the pair were complete strangers.

According to Brea police Lt. Darrin Devereux, this may be the same man who exposed himself to shoppers at the Shops At Mission Viejo and the Irvine Spectrum. That got us to wondering about his description compared to the Irvine flasher.

Devereux described their guy as white, about 30, 5 feet 11 and 175 pounds, with a short "buzz" haircut, wearing a thick necklace or band and possibly having a tattoo on at least one forearm and a tan or sunburn. (Anyone with information should call Brea Police at 714.990.7626.

The Irvine flasher is described as male, light skin, age 20-30, with short dark brown hair. The vehicle he was in is a black or dark sedan with tinted windows and a partial license plate of: 6NHB_ _ _ or 6HNB _ _ _. He is believed to be the flasher who struck the Woodbridge area on Jan. 17, Feb. 14 and March 4 (click on the link above for more details).

The Irvine Police Department says it has increased patrols near the affected areas and encourages parents to reinforce stranger danger. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Irvine Police Department at 949.724.7200.

UPDATE, MARCH 14, 11:08 A.M.: The Brea Police Department has released store surveillance video and more details about a man who flashes his junk and women.

Here are some screen grabs of him:

The Monday Brea Mall incident happened at Macy's, where surveillance video captured the man walking around for about a half hour before spotting an approaching woman (who is off camera) and then loosening and dropping his pants in her direction, patting his tummy and mouthing something, which police reported to be lewd comments about what he wanted done to him:

KABC/Channel 7 has full video of the encounter (pixelated for your protection) that I was able to view without having to put up with an advertisement:

The dude is pretty damn brazen. And that's what concerns Brea Police Lt. Darrin Devereux, who says he could go on to more bold acts, including grabbing someone and harming them.

Again, Brea detectives describe the flasher as a white male, about 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 175 pounds. He has a short buzz haircut and wears a thick band or necklace. He has tattoos on at least one forearm, and appears to be tanned or sunburned. If you know who he is, detectives want you to let them know at 714.990.7748. If you see him, call 9-1-1.

Patrick Dodenhoff, 45, who was described by police as a parolee and registered sex offender who was supposed to be wearing a GPS monitoring device, also may be tied to similar crimes in several cities, officials said.

Got him.

First thing to do is cross-reference the man's sketch to area high-school teacher photos.

If women would yell at him "Hey! It looks like a penis but only smaller"........He'll stop!!

Ya never seen women flashing their hooch at unsuspecting passersby.  Although, I have been mooned on occasion.

This is the kind of person the sex offender registry was meant for...someone who PURPOSELY exposes their genitals to complete strangers for cheap thrills.

@20ftjesus Spend a little time in downtown Huntington Beach. Frankly, I thought hooch flashing was somewhat common place.

Glad you brought up "mooning"...I don't think that warrants being put in the registry...nor does urinating in public...although some have tried to make it so.

@DonkeyHotay you go around flashing your junk at strangers? But I DO understand the difference between just being naked and being sexual while naked.

I never said I hated sexuality! There you go with your generalizations again. You want to know how much I'm NOT a prude and how much I DON'T hate sexuality? Here goes...

I've been in a threesome, I've kissed two women, I like being spanked a little bit, I have a transvestite fetish...and I love giving head. Still think I'm prudish? If so, that must mean you've had a very adventurous sex life so far...congratulations! That being said...I still don't think it's ok for people to go around flashing their genitals at strangers. :-P

@fishwithoutbicycle  "But I DO understand the difference between just being naked and being sexual while naked. "

Do tell.

Why do you hate human sexuality?
