For professional sports teams, success brings more fan interest, and more fan interest brings more ticket sales, and more ticket sales drive up the prices of those tickets.

Fans and ticket brokers are discovering this is true for the Anaheim Ducks, whose 15-0-2 record at the Honda Center in 2013 made them the only NHL franchise to finish the season without a loss in regulation at home.

According to Razorgator, individual game ticket prices in Anaheim are up 14 percent for 2014. "On Oct. 1, 2014 games at home averaged $76 (cheapest in NHL)," the online ticket broker/analyst tweeted to me. "Now $87."

Those may be the average prices, but a check of the Razorgator Anaheim Ducks page showed select seats at $18-$19 for Tuesday's 7 p.m. game against the Boston Bruins (last season's Stanley Cup runner-up).

"Don't be fooled by the Southern California façade--the Ducks are the real deal," booms Razorgator.

Replace "Season" with "2013 calendar year". Also, recheck your article.

And they are still cheaper than going to almost any other arena in the league.
