The last time we checked in with David Perdue, he was holding one of the bullets a Torrance police officer fired at him in those tense SoCal days in early February when rogue ex-LAPD cop Christopher Jordan Dorner was on the loose. As Perdue demonstrated, police were so freaked out by the threat posed by now late, former La Palma resident Dorner--who'd been blamed for killing a cop and an Irvine couple tied to a cop (before supposedly slaying a sheriff's detective)--that they were literally shooting at anything that moved. Well, as you might have expected when you first heard about the Perdue saga, the mess is going to have to be resolved in court.

Christopher Jordan Dorner Firing is Justified Again, Attorney Says; LAPD Denies Report Done

The Los Angeles Police Department firing of Christopher Jordan Dorner, the former La Palma resident and "rogue ex-officer" who presumably took his own life after terrorizing Southern California law enforcement and killing four in early February, has again been deemed justified, according to a veteran civil rights attorney.

But the LAPD insists the review has not yet been completed and no conclusions have been reached.

Brittany-Jane Royal of Tustin Found Pregnant and Presumably Murdered in Hawaii

An Alaska man who is missing on the Big Island of Hawaii is wanted for questioning in the murder of a former Tustin woman.

The body of Brittany-Jane Royal, a 25-year-old who was two months pregnant, was found tangled in fishing line in the Pacific last Tuesday. Medical examiners later concluded she had been strangled.

Garden Grove Man Shot in Front Yard on Memorial Day was Later Declared Brain Dead

A 26-year-old man standing in his Garden Grove front yard early on Memorial Day was shot and later declared brain dead, according to police.

It's unclear at this hour if the unidentified victim had been disconnected from life support at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, according to Lieutenant Jeff Nightengale, the Garden Grove Police Department spokesman.

ORIGINAL POST, MAY 20, NOON: Kwang "K.C." Joy, who is currently being held in lieu of $1 million bail, is due to be arraigned Tuesday for the murder of the 54-year-old's roommate of one and a half years, Maribel Manriquez Ramos.

Questioned by police and the media in the days after the 36-year-old U.S. Army veteran and Cal State Fullerton criminology student went missing, Joy had described Ramos as his best friend and the only family he had.

Christopher Jordan Dorner $1 Million Split Injunction Request Denied by Judge: Update

See the updates at the end of this post about one of the eight parties shut out from the $1 million Christopher Dorner reward going to court to stop the distribution of funds today, and a judge in Los Angeles shutting him down.

The Los Angeles Police Department on Thursday released a three-judge panel's determination on the distribution of the $1 million reward for information leading to the capture of Christopher Jordan Dorner--a reward that included $100,000 from the city of Irvine. Twelve parties had sought chunks of the reward, but the judges settled on three. "We acknowledge the decision of the panel and the judges' wisdom," Irvine Mayor Steven Choi says in an Irvine Police statement.
