Some lunatic looking at Vasquez's mural in Orange's Cypress Street barrio.
This infernal rag has been reporting skeptically on gang injunctions ever since 2006, when managing editor Nick Schou took an in-depth look into Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas' first one, lodged against the Santa Nita gang. Nevertheless, Tony Rack has thrown them around with joy, with nearly all of them sticking. The one exception is in Orange, where residents of the city's historic Cypress Street barrio have not only been fighting the gang injunction since 2009, they recently beat it in federal court, sticking taxpayers with a $4 million bill.

Why is Rackauckas so in love with gang injunctions? That's the subject of my latest "Orange County Line" commentary for KCRW-FM 89.9

Why does he love them? Because they're legal and the better alternative, out right murder of gang bangers, is harder to get away with. Personally, I think he should just blow off those communities. Let the gang bangers have them. I'd rather read Gustavo articles where he bitches about how Tony R won't do anything about the violence in his grandma's neighborhood.

Tony Rackauckas needs to answer for why his law enforcement community uses gang members to commit crimes against American citizens residing in his County before he winds up in federal prison along with mafia police - this is a spectacular fraud against the people of Orange County and you make Madoff look angelic.
