Bring him back!
As the Mexican-in-Chief reported a couple weeks ago, Real Orange, the only television news show in Southern California exclusively devoted to Orange County, ends its 16-year public television run at the end of the year on KPBS PBS SoCal (formerly KOCE).

Now comes word that another Orange County-based TV station will be airing an hour of news in prime time soon.

It's KDOC/Channel 56, the former stomping grounds of Wally George, Poorman and various televangelists. However, the Irvine-based station will not be showing news it has produced in Orange County but a live, one-hour newscast by Los Angeles-based KABC/Channel 7.

This is scheduled to begin in January, seven days a week at 8 p.m., the station reportedly confirmed for TVSpy. KDOC will also re-air ABC 7's 11 p.m. Eyewitness News at midnight.

"One of our goals at LA56 has always been to air a primetime newscast; and, now, we have a partnership with the number one news station in the LA market," say KDOC president and general manager John Manzi in a statement. "We could not be more excited to work with ABC7."

No word on how this changes the whole KDOC Bridezillas/That '70s Show/Everybody Loves Raymond space-time continuum.

Did KOCE really become KPBS?  What happened to San Diego's KPBS?

More importantly, will I get to see Dallas Raines say hello to our friends down in Laguna Beach and close with the fist pump in a *new* daypart?
