Mathew David Sherman of Surf City Can't Keep Evidence in His Pants in Big Montana Drug Bust

When Huntington Beach's Mathew David Sherman was confronted in his Deffy's Motel room in Hamilton, Montana, last month, the 44-year-old allegedly told Ravalli County's sheriff's deputies his name was Jason Carney.

Then a meth pipe fell out of his pants leg (Doh!). As Sherman signed a Miranda waiver (using the Carney name), a bag of methamphetamine fell out of his pocket (Doh! Doh!). After what the local press called a "smorgasbord of drugs" were found in the motel room, Sherman was stewing in a jail cell in lieu of $1 million bail.

The Ravalli Republic quotes court records that indicate an ounce of meth, 46.3 grams of marijuana, 10.2 grams of cocaine, 1.7 grams of crystal molly, six morphine sulfate pills, a scale, syringes and more pipes were found in the room.

There was also a police scanner, a list of Ravalli County law enforcement radio frequencies and $1,464 in cash.

Sherman was charged with five felony drug counts, a felony criminal mischief charge and misdemeanor charges of obstructing a police officer (for allegedly using the false name and putting it to ink!) and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lemme get this right, he signed a Miranda waiver so he could spill the beans on his boss?

@MatthewTCoker The only reason to sign a waiver is so you can give up your right to remain silent.  Smells like a rat to me.
