4 Examples of OC Halloween Mayhem (2 Ladies Slain; Meth-Laced Treats; Flying Pumpkins)
I was out half of last week, including the all-important Halloween night, so here to catch you up on assorted mayhem in our fair county ...
1. Woman found slain in Cypress home
When 63-year-old Sharon Federation failed to show up for work for a couple days, cops were sent to check on her at her home in the 10200 block of Pimlico Street in Cypress at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, hours before trick-or-treaters made their rounds. Officers found her body, and investigators have deemed her death suspicious without revealing much more. Cypress Police are seeking tips at 714.229.6641.
2. Mom dies, toddler hurt jumping/being pushed from truck
Courtesy of Santa Ana Police Department The girl found in the street recovers from her injuries.
A Santa Ana mom was killed and her toddler daughter was injured Halloween night when they either jumped or were pushed out of a vehicle driven by her boyfriend/his father. Witnesses saw this unfold around 8 p.m. Thursday, when Gloria Sanchez, 21, and her 13-month-old girl were found lying in the street in the 1600 block of West Edinger Avenue, according to Santa Ana Police. Sanchez later died at a local hospital but her daughter's injuries were not considered life-threatening. Police mounted a search for the driver of a dark-colored pickup before Francisco Montano, 21, turned himself and his black Toyota Rav4 into police on Friday. He was held on $200,000 bail for alleged felony hit and run.
