Criminal charges will not be pursued against a 34-year-old Santa Ana man who killed his longtime girlfriend in April with a shot from a BB gun, according to authorities.

Martha Socorro Marin, 32, suffered a small wound to her upper chest in the April 18 shooting inside the guesthouse she shared with her boyfriend of 14 years, behind her parents' home in the 1000 block of South Austin Street. Paramedics kept her alive that morning until she reached UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she later died.
