SoCal Pro-Cop Law Firm Known For Hostile Tactics Disbands Amid Billing Scandal

The controversial Upland law firm known for its aggressive legal representation of accused dirty cops, police labor unions seeking additional government pay and perks, and tied to a bizarre incident involving Costa Mesa Republican Mayor Jim Righeimer is dissolving, according to Southern California news organizations.

Citing the Daily Journal, the Los Angeles Times reported on Friday that Police Officers Research Association (PORAC), a Sacramnto-based police union lobbying outfit, earlier this month removed Lackie, Dammeier, McGill & Ethir from recommended firms because of allegations of fraudulent billing practices.

A PORAC letter obtained by reporters claims police legal defense accounts were over-billed or hit with imaginary bills.

Local residents most likely have heard of at least one prior member of the firm: the feisty Michael D. Schwartz. He represented an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent who was convicted earlier this year in a bribery scheme to undermine an Orange County District Attorney's office assault case at John Wayne Airport. He also represents Jay Cicinelli, the ex-Fullerton Police Department cop facing criminal trial for his role in the beating death of Kelly Thomas.

Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas targeted the Lackie firm for investigation after it was tied to a plot involving an erroneous accusation that Righeimer had driven home intoxicated from a Costa Mesa restaurant, Skosh Monahan's pub.

Righeimer, a longtime opponent of California's public employee unions, believes he was targeted for retaliation because of his refusals to make additional taxpayer concessions to cop unions.

The mayor and Councilman Steve Mensinger are suing the Costa Mesa police union for alleged intimidation tactics, a move cops called laughable and ill-advised.

Arrested for false crimes that the cops accuse you of and then he makes the statement:

"To be arrested falsely for a crime in this county is abhorrent", - Mayor Jim Righeimer

"The City of Costa Mesa is mathematically bankrupt, there is no job creation going on here". - Mayor Jim Righeimer

"The City of Costa Mesa announces a $7 Million dollar surplus".

It happened to me and I got sentenced for the actions and behaviors of another man that I was the caretaker for. But it's over now. Because the cops "felt" that I had commited a crime.

I don't know why I didn't think of this before. I'd like to announce that besides appearing at the Anaheim city council tomorrow I will be making my debut at the Costa Mesa city council next week. At least this city council has members in it that understand exactly what I mean by law enforcement and their "Mafia Trash Behavior".

The County wide tour enlightening the people of Orange County about what their angelic cops are doing with their taxpayer money and in their name continues.

What Mayor Righeimer is alleging is exactly the sort of garbage behavior I've witnessed across more than 16 years. I call it "Mafia Trash Behavior" except with really stupid people. At least mobsters know their criminals.

Oh yes this is the lawyer arguing that it is OK to defraud the Orange County District Attorney because his wonder cops would never abuse such stupidity.

And Bernie Madoff is a brilliant investor.

So the ones who knew about it, condoned the overbilling, unethical conduct, and stayed until the end have went off to form their own firms?! Where the same practices will take place, only now with their former employers pulling strings in the shadow. These few that peeled off are disgraced cops or were hired because their spouse was a POA president.

When there is no job creation going on and you fining them when they have no jobs and no money what do you expect them to do?

When you are suing the police union for the cops that work for you and are helping you then you are a fool and Riggy is a fool. The cops were giving him the evil eye when he was running for City Council back in 2010. It has nothing to do with his family it's his mindset because he's a republinut and he's anti-union. You do not go up against the unions. The people are speaking to you Riggy. We want you removed (as in voted out) from office because you are evil. That does not make you the boss of the police officers. Arrested for false crimes that the cops accuse you of and then he makes the statement:

It is interesting that "Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas targeted the Lackie firm for investigation after it was tied to a plot involving an erroneous accusation that Righeimer had driven home intoxicated from a Costa Mesa restaurant"; however, there are law firms in the affluent and infamous Orange County, California, with similar tactics to those of the Lackier firm that DA Rackauckas should and/or should have been investigating years ago for LEGAL, PERSONAL and RELIGIOUS conflicts of interest.

Republinut Righeimer needs to get out of office. He's caused more problems than he's solved, he put people out of thier homes because of his pet project that he's building over on Industrial Way where his apartments will take years to build and end up on the auction block. I've seen more businesses close than open recently in this city.

OK 10-4. I've not made my way to the Costa Mesa city council yet. Where cops and/or cop cheerleaders are apparently brazen enough to try to screw with mayors and council members.
