Jesse Andrew Green, Former Garden Grove Cop, Guilty of Date Raping Three Women

Former Garden Grove police officer Jesse Andrew Green wiped his eyes as a five-man, seven-woman jury read his verdict today: guilty of forced sodomy on three women he dated.

The jury deadlocked on a fourth felony count against the 35-year-old Huntington Beach resident, who lost his job in November 2010, seven weeks after being charged with the sick crimes against two of the women.

Jesse Andrew Green, Ex-Garden Grove Cop, Accused of Sexually Assaulting Women, Calling Them "Whores," Telling Them He's Diseased

Orange County Superior Court Judge Thomas Goethals declared a mistrial on the rape charge. Green faces between nine and 24 years in prison at his sentencing scheduled for Nov. 22.

City News Service reporter Paul Anderson, who was in court for the verdict, reports supporters of Green yelled at the female victims as the ex-cop learned his fate, with Goethals admonishing one man for saying, "Keep laughing."

"You're my hero, Jess," another reportedly said as Green was led away in handcuffs. "Love you, bro."

Green called his victims names and told them he gave them sexually transmitted diseases during and after the assaults. John Barnett, the Orange County attorney who earns large for representing just about every scummy cop in Southern California, told jurors Green's accusers are liars.

The defense seemed to have going for it the fact some of the women dated Green after their encounters with him. Barnett said things in court like "the alleged victims are calling and dating the alleged rapist and sodomizer," and that one of the women later called his client with "a happy birthday to my rapist."

But Deputy District Attorney Eric Scarbrough* successfully convinced jurors these were classic date rapes. By a nut, from the sounds of it. Green would be the nicest guy in the world before and after the rapes and a monster during. When one woman asked him to wear a condom, he raped her and told her he'd just given her AIDS. After consensual sex with another, he flipped her around against her will and sodomized her. (*See my comment below based on an email explaining the change of prosecutors mid-trial.)

It was Green's drastic demeanor change that had the women confused as to whether they were overreacting, jurors were told.

If you think that Mr. Green is guilty of these charges then you're as dumb as the jurors.  The media let's us know what they want us to know.  Anyone that heard all of the details of this case would have to say that Mr. Green is innocent.  The "victims" are just lying sluts with an agenda.  The DA also had an agenda.  As a result an innocent man sits in jail.  Meanwhile there are plenty of guilty people running loose on the streets - the same people Mr. Green helped put away when he was a Police Officer.  What's wrong with our "justice" system?  You are supposed to be tried by a jury of your peers - not a bunch of idiots who are incapable of understanding when they are being fed one lie after another.  Mr. Green is the only victim in this case.

From my email inbox: "Thank you for your blog today on Jesse Green's Guilty Verdict.  I was happy to see that it was covered.  However, I must point out an error in your reporting.  You were quoted staying "...Deputy District Attorney Eric Scarbrough successfully convinced jurors these were classic date rapes..."  The error lies not in what the jurors were convinced occurred, but rather who successfully tried this case.  The win belongs to Deputy District Attorney Nicole Nicholson who was assigned to this trial midway though to relieve Mr. Scarbrough when he was no longer allowed to prosecute a case that he was now a witness for.  Although I do believe Mr. Scarbrough deserves credit for the years of preparation that went into this trial, I do feel that if not for Mrs. Nicholson's ability to personalize the victims to the jury this win would not have occurred.  On the day that Mr. Scarbrough was relieved of his duty in this case, the courtroom was packed by not only public spectators but also by colleagues of the District Attorney's office to watch Mrs. Nicholson perform her best."

It's clear that you didn't hear or see a single second of this trial and are going off of some wayward hope that the DA's office and its odd stories, inability to present evidence or accurate statements/witnesses, and even the investigators / detectives that were caught in lies during the trial were all truthful --- but go on with your negative commentary, or 'retired cop' (?) talk, you're no different than the rest who don't think for themselves and just read articles to make assertions.  I'm no cop - but I am dissatisfied that my tax dollars produced amateur investigations and hollywood style antics from the DA, it was more of a show than proof of any crime.

No question about it, they sold this tale to the jury - and an innocent guy was center stage to be the fall guy for something bigger than this trial.  Has anyone even looked at the exhibits or evidence.  Jeez....

You're my hero bro. Really? WTF??? And who was that retired cop sitting in on the proceedings in support of this now convicted felon??? WTF again. You sir are an embarrassment to the law enforcement community!

And who was that masked man supporting this butt pirate? Oh what a sordid tale that is! A retired cop supporting this clown throughout trial

I was in the courtroom several times over the trial, and also there when they read the verdict too.  I'm not leaning toward either side, but I don't think justice was served --- they smeered this cop and got caught in lie after lie.  So many jaw dropping moments in the trial that never got reported (media angles I guess).  I was suprised, as was everyone there too, that they found him guilty.

Oh also - this article report is wrong, for the record... the family of officer Green noticed the Huntington Beach detectives (sitting across from them, I was in back) laughing and grinning after the verdict and that's why the family spoke up with 'Keep Laughing, its real funny'.  There were no girls anywhere near the laughing detectives, so for what its worth, that was reported inaccurately.  Also, the brothers of Green were there and visibly upset with the verdict, that's where the 'Hero' and 'Love you Bro' comments came from.

In all honesty - from what I saw first hand, this wasn't about a cop or rape crime --- the DA seemed to dig in with an agenda and didn't have anything tangible at any time - and seemed to coax the witnesses and the jury just bought it.

It's very likely there's an innocent man in jail (though I think the media or popular opinion wants to be otherwise, but unless you were there, you wouldn't know).

Thank God. One more dirty cop almost got away. It should not have taken 4 years though. Hes going to have a great time in prison being an ex cop and a sex offender.

@seandavis521 I must agree.  How is it that after the DA showed the evidence to the girls about the first defendant that all of a sudden, the others concurred? They all dated him afterward. It could have been a bad call in the girls judgement, but i'm just not convinced it was a crime. I realize the jury did, but it did seem to be the "same" story from all the victims?

@seandavis521 12 people, 5 men and 7 women looked at the evidence and exhibits. They ALL  had to agree. All 12 of them. I even one of them had ANY  reasonable doubt there would have been a mistrial. Its obvious you have some sort of connection to the defendant. Your bias is naked.

@paullucas714  You are calling him a "dirty cop"? Because he had consensual sex with girls who later decided they did not want to do what they did? But still talked to him 67 times and even called him to wish him a happy birthday AFTER the "attacks"? I hardly not call that a dirty cop.

@lori369 @paullucas714 I would give you credence if it was only one. But three women who had no prior knowledge of each other experienced the same thing?

lori369
lori369

@paullucas714 @lori369 Yes, but, the DA did show the evidence from the first girl to the second and third, which is when they concurred that yes, that was how it happened with them too. That makes me think the DA might have given them the idea? It just seems that maybe the guy had a messed up view of sex, condoms and anal...not sure it means he was a dirty cop.
