The Last Unicorn Swag, Screenwriter and New Print Come to Lido for NBFF Benefit Screening
At a benefit screening for the Newport Beach Film Festival Wednesday night, you not only get to see a digitally restored version of The Last Unicorn (1982), hear the voice work of Alan Arkin, Jeff Bridges and, as the unicorn, Mia Farrow, and get a chance to dress in fantasy costumes and possibly win prizes.
You also can ask screenwriter Peter S. Beagle anything you want about the animated classic (and presumably anything else within reason).
Beagle is scheduled to participate in an audience Q&A after the 7:30 p.m. Wednesday showing at the historic Lido Theatre in Newport Beach, where The Last Unicorn books, Blu-rays, DVDs, graphic novels, art prints, clothing, and jewelry will be available for purchase and signing.
In case you haven't seen it, The Last Unicorn about the titular character fearing she is the last of her kind and setting out on a quest to find out whether she is right to fear that. She is joined in her travels by an incompetent magician and a lovelorn woman, while an evil witch, a wicked king and a fiery elemental bull try to stop them in their tracks.
The Lido is at 3459 Via Lido Drive, Newport Beach. Tickets to the benefit are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Visit NewportBeachFilmFest.com to scoop up a bundle.
