Wanted!
The Huntington Beach Police Department has announced the arrest of a 17-year-old in connection with the July 28 riots downtown and has posted through its greatest tool in apprehending suspects these days--social media--photos of more vandals they would like to pop.

The latest is a 17-year-old Huntington Beach boy arrested for allegedly throwing a can of beer at police officers on Main Street and various other acts of vandalism.

The youth, who was not identified because of his age, was booked on suspicion of assault on a peace officer, felony vandalism, inciting a riot and refusing to disperse when ordered, according to police, who add he was held at Orange County Juvenile Hall.

"We greatly appreciate all the assistance members of the public have provided," the agency mentions on its Facebook page. "More arrests are anticipated in the near future."

The HBPD Facebook page is also there where you'll find an album with 27 photos of rioting suspects.

"We are requesting the public not name individuals they possibly recognize in the form of a comment to the picture (in case it is not accurate)," reads some accompanying text. "Each image is given a number. Please forward tips and any video or picture files to hbpdfiles@gmail.com or call our tip line 714-375-5066."

Along with today's announced arrest, 11 other males have been held and/or cited for alleged crimes tied to the riots. The following post details one such case and includes links to all the others:

Why oh why must we do the policepeople's work for them? Haven't we allowed them unprecedented access into our everything's? Don't we let them invade our privacy to prevent and solve crimes? If so, why are they unable to locate these douchebags on there own? I think if they can't do their jobs with all the fancy hummers, million dollar drone programs, privacy invasion tools, rubber bullets, gas cans etc etc etc we should just cut their budgets. Police shouldn't molest the public then expect us to do its sleuthing. If we are better at locating criminals why do we have police anyway? To taze handicap people to death?

Right on Mike MacDuffee. I was sickened by all the fucking comments about this was all caused by kids from the IE and all non-locals. Fuck you Huntington Beach loudmouths. You absolutely DID NOT deserve this. However we ALL know the abhorent racism and bro bullshit that plays out on the shore and Main Street each day and night. There is more than enough proof that bros and hos and spoiled kids right from the 714 and 949 were acting like fucktards. So stop mouthing off, HB, stop lying, and look in your own households.

And if you were actually in Huntington Beach that day watching the the open, you would know there was a mix of races and no need to call it a "white riot" This publication's focus on race is pretty sad.

Amazing how social media has changed the outcomes of events like these. 10 years ago no one would have had smart phones and there would probably be no suspects.

@Matthew Cooper Oh just you wait until you have to call them for something, then the real fun begins...you begin to understand that we hire morons. If you need something beaten up or controlled they got that shit down, put them in a thinking mans position and you got yourself a monkey humping a football.
