The third Indie Film Festival is scheduled for Oct. 24-27 on Main Street in Garden Grove, and organizers are seeking submissions from filmmakers.

Opening night, a Thursday, has a Latino film, food and music theme, the next night features a classic car show and American Graffiti screening, and the third night is dedicated to Asian cinema, food and entertainment.

"Fiesta De Las Peliculas" (Celebration of the Films) on Oct. 24 is said to include traditional and fusion foods, live music performances on stage and roving, traditional dance performances, special free film screenings from Hispanic filmmakers on an outdoor screen and a piñata.

"Drive In Style" on Oct. 25 has the classic cars in person and up on an outdoor screening in films from the 1950s and '60s musical performances on stage, prize giveaways, American food specials and a '50s costume contest.

The Oct. 26 "Asian Film Showcase" is to have traditional and fusion foods, live music performances on stage, traditional dance performances and dragon performers, a special free film screening of films from Asian filmmakers and students, special events and contests.

Besides films to roll, Josh McIntosh (a.k.a. DJ Gummo) tells me he and others putting on the festival are seeking local merchants who'd like to participate in and/or help sponsor the event. For more details, visit indiefestusa.com.
