"I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it: people will subscribe to the Register!
It's been about a year now since Aaron Kushner bought the Orange County Register, so the paper is riding a wave of publicity marking that anniversary. That was the focus of my Monday KCRW-FM 89.9 "Orange County Line" commentary, and although I made sure to sneak in my usual criticism of Kushner--that he's the Stuart Smalley of print journalism for his feel-good thoughts on what a newspaper should do--I also pointed out that he's put his money where his mouth is. In fact, this might be the nicest criticism I'll ever have of the Register.

Anyhoo, enjoy!

My Voice Nation Help

No mention of their total lack of credibility when it comes to coverage of Anaheim Gustavo? I'd think any discussion of The Register would include their deal with the City of Anaheim. Especially when it has directly impacted their coverage and the ability of the council majorities opponents to place ads in their publications.
