ORIGINAL POST, AUG. 27, 11:45 A.M.: Downed cable lines have closed all lanes on the 91 freeway in Anaheim this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

For reasons not yet clear, a support beam collapsed and the lines came down around 10:30 a.m. on the freeway at La Palma Avenue near the 57 freeway, according to CHP Officer Troy Christensen.

The westbound lanes of the 91 were initially closed, then officials decided to close the eastbound lanes as well, Christensen reportedly told City News Service.

All traffic was being diverted to the 57 as of 11:20 a.m. The CHP issued an hour-long SigAlert, but it could take longer to clear the lines, Christensen warned.

UPDATE, AUG. 27, 1:17 P.M.: All eastbound lanes and all but the two far left westbound lanes of the 91 freeway in Anaheim had been reopened by about 1 p.m., according to officials who minutes later announced all lanes in either direction should now be open.

As of moments ago, the CHP added it was still awaiting AT&T crews to clear the lines that fell.

Having dealt with AT&T customer service, I know the feeling ...
