Remember when Kobe Bryant's mother was going to auction off his memorabilia to buy a house in Las Vegas, and Black Mamba sued to stop mama, claiming he'd only loaned her some stuff and other stuff had mysteriously disappeared from his Newport Coast pad?

Good times!

Now you can see some of the stuff just down the road from Kob's.

And, if you are so inclined, you can bid on, say, some of his NBA championship rings or his high school uniforms or his 1996 Magic Roundball Classic All-Star medallion and ribbon.

These and other items (like the game-worn jersey on the opener page) are on display 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Friday at the Newport Sports Museum, 100 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach.

$55,612 going once ...
Admission is free, but if you are inclined to check your wallet for loose change to bid, keep in mind that bidding for just one of the championship rings already hit $55,000 earlier in the week, while two of the high school uniforms had fetched $20,000 nods.

The auction runs through July 19, according to Doug Drotman of Goldin Auctions, which you may recognize as the co-defendant in Bryant's lawsuit against his mother, Pamela ...

The uncoverable Lakers superstar seemed to warm up to the idea that half of the proceeds from the auction will go to a charity, which Drotman has announced: the anti-bullying BULLY Project.

That's great, especially since a certain someone seems to have been bullied into parting with his stuff in the first place. Actually, a total pimp move would be for Bryant to outbid everyone for his own stuff ... for his girls and charity, of course.
