A 29-year-old man suspected of breaking into a Santa Ana church with two others to pilfer a safe containing about $15,000 was taken into custody Friday. Daniel Cortes, who is believed to be the burglar who was wearing a White Sox cap in surveillance video from Forty Martyrs Armenian Church, was arrested after a short car chase, Santa Ana police said.

Santa Ana and Anaheim investigators, who are working together because Cortes' crew is suspected of pulling jobs extending back to at least January in both cities, had received a tip that led to the suspect, according to Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) Corporal Anthony Bertagna.

Some stolen goods have been recovered, the spokesman added. After the May 1 Forty Martyrs burglary, police had disclosed the safe's contents included $15,000 from the previous night's bingo proceeds.

Police are still seeking two men: a bald 40- to 45-year-old with a mustache and a medium build, and a thin, 35- to 40-year-old Hispanic with a goatee. Anyone with information is asked to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855.847.6227.

Is stealing from a church a greater sin?

The book gives you an idea of who Jesus really was and what he really taught, as well as all the bs that's been passed off in this religion about Jesus.

And all the Christian leaders know it, because that's what they're taught. They just don't tell their followers.

I haven't read revelations. I just know that heaven and hell (the afterlife) was invented by early Christians when the kingdom of heaven did not arrive in Jesus' lifetime, or that of his followers, as promised. Its described this way: horizontal timeline Jesus says this is a bad time to be living in, but its all going to end and the kingdom of heaven will arrive here on earth, in our lifetime. Vertical: Oh, well that didn't happen, so now its going to happen after you die. Follow this new religion of Jesus and get into heaven or don't and go to hell.

Bonnie: it's absolutely true there's NOTHING in the Bible re a place called hell, outside of the Lake of Fire reference in Revelation, which has been extrapolated into so many different (and some crazy) theories and scenarios about the afterlife.

Looking at his picture, it is quite evident that Daniel Cortes is a thief...of hearts. He is guilty of taking things that don't belong to him...like other people's breath away.

That being said, its best to follow the age old social contract of not stealing. I don't steal from you, you don't steal from me, and those who break that contract are punished in order to dissuade the undesirable behavior.

Not saying this is right, but hell is known to be fiction by every church leader (Jesus, Interrupted, forget the author, look it up) making the whole church business a rip off, since they are not sharing info which is known to be true w their patrons. Its unfortunate.
