"Spread the news," Genevieve Huizar told the crowd. "Tell your family and your friends about a candlelight vigil tonight at Anna Drive."
The time for the event was set for around 6:30 p.m. at the site where her son was shot to death exactly eight months ago today.

Lupe Diaz, Manuel's older sister, was also at the protest. She found out about the OCDA findings yesterday--not from the DA's office, though. "I was actually on Facebook and I'd seen somebody post it and turned on the news," Diaz says. "I was disappointed but I was not surprised.
"There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about my brother. I even dream of him," Diaz says. "I love him a lot and I do miss him everyday."
Similar sentiments are sure to draw others to the memorial site this evening for the candlelight vigil on Anna Drive.
