Fundraisers Abound for Carmen and Sheyla Mendoza and Stephanie Henriquez, Women Killed by Drunk Driver in Anaheim

Yesterday, I was at the LA Zine Fest when I saw a tragic part of Orange County news. One of the 'zine-sters had a box for donations in memory of Carmen and Sheyla Mendoza and Stephanie Henriquez. They were the women tragically killed by a drunk driver in Anaheim Feb. 9 after leaving a family baby shower.

This past weekend saw fund-raisers across Anaheim to help family members bury their relatives (Carmen and Sheyla were mother and daughter, while Stephanie was niece and cousin to Carmen and Sheyla, respectively). There will be more, so make sure to constantly check in at the blog set up in their memory. And if you can't make any of the fund-raisers, you can still donate money to a bank account set up in the memories of the Mendozas and Henriquez.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the Mendozas and Henriquezes, and we will keep readers posted on any developments.
