Dana Rohrabacher Makes DREAMer Cry By Ranting About Illegal Immigration at His DC Office

All of us know Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-Supported Taliban) is an idiot, a pendejo, a guy who once employed a staffer who'd go on to get arrested for pedophilia (then deny he ever knew him) and believes in wacky things. But it's one thing to be some foolish politician, and quite another to make a young woman cry--especially when she lives in your district and is visiting you on Capitol Hill.

But that's exactly what Rohrabacher did last week, although what led to the tears is the subject of dispute between Rohrabacher and the student in question.

That student would be Jessica Bravo, an undocumented student currently attending Golden West College and who has lived in Costa Mesa since she was three years old. On February 6, per her account, she visited Rohrabacher's office in DC "to tell Rep. Rohrabacher my story...I wanted to explain that I have no other home than Costa Mesa, I wanted to speak for all those in my community who are too afraid to talk about their status, all those who live in the shadows and who have had their families torn apart."

Rohrabacher's response, according to Bravo? He said "he hates illegals" and, according to The Hill, "made a veiled threat to deport her and her family," leaving Bravo in tears.

Rohrabacher's office points the finger at Bravo's contingent, specifically at Minerva Gomez of Orange County Congregation Community Organization. A Dana staffer claims Gomez became rude, snapped at a Rohrabacher staffer, at which point Rohrabacher snapped back at Gomez. She told The Hill that Rohrabacher was "red" and screamed "'What are you doing in this office?' It was just like a shock. Everything just escalated out of control."

A staffer told The Hill that "he's met with illegal immigrants before...He's not going to pick up the phone to [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and tell them there's an illegal immigrant in his office. It's ridiculous." But Bravo might have the last laugh.

"You've made it clear exactly where you stand," she wrote. "My church, my family, my friends, and my community will not forget that you refused even to discuss a roadmap to citizenship and a better immigration process for aspiring Americans. The people of Orange County who know me and have taken the time to listen to my story will remember your stance when they vote. And unlike you I'm not making a threat. I am making a promise."

Spread the word: Dana makes girls cry. CLASSY...

Was that criminal movie producer who gave him $23 grand for an ancient, crappy and unusable screenplay an undocumented immigrant?

  1. I’ve had discussions with Dana – he even gets a little heated with people from his own party. The young lady was in the “kitchen” – "if you can’t stand the heat …….. get out of the kitchen."

This is the creep who got $23,000 from a grifting producer who stole millions from suckered "investors" in Orange County and L.A.. The money was supposedly for a worthless, 30-year-old screenplay, but in fact was likely payment for introducing the con man around to his congressional colleagues in D.C. It was a supremely ironic twist on the expression, "pay for play."

He's a supposed "libertarian" who demands that women's sexuality and pregnancies be controlled by the government.

He also said that the Iraqis should pay the U.S. for the trillions it squandered on the illegal invasion and occupation of their country that killed over 100,000, left a million in early graves, and created five million refugees.

He also voted for CAFTA, which shipped American jobs to sweatshops in Central America.

"WAS RED,"  I believe Minerva.  I've seen Dana exactly like that.

And also, don't get between him and food.

of course he's met with undocumented workers before. They cut his grass, they cook and serve his food. He's a real friend to our cousins from south o' the border! He tips 17%!

Rohrbacher doesn't even know where he is half the time.  There is no excuse whatsoever for behavior like that.  I don't care who was rude, there is no excuse for Rohrbacher being rude.  Wake up Californians, we need to get rid of this "has been".

Let's see. If you stole much of your country from the original owners and now claim that you and only you have the right to make the rules and to be here, you have little appreciation for your own history. Someone who came here at age 3 or was born here of 'illegal' parents still deserves a government that looks out for them.

Referring to an illegal as an "undocumented' student is like calling a drug dealer an unlicensed pharmacist.  If Bravo should be pissed at anyone, it should be her parents, who presumably are the ones who dragged her 3 year old butt to Costa Mesa in the first place.  They are the ones responsible for her situation- not Rohrabacher

How about this -- eliminate all legal immigration from Mexico (currently running about 125,000 per year, I believe) and give those slots to the so-called 'Dreamers'?

What, you don't agree? Then we know that this is just about expanding the number of Mexicans in this country, and nothing about helping those (not) in the shadows.

@BobLoblawsLawBlog Maybe if young all those line cook and prep jobs weren't taken up by illegal immigrants, young American born kids could learn the restaurant trade like they do in Europe, through an apprenticeship, rather than blowing 2 years and $100,000 at 'Culinary School'.

@gulsbyja There were 3000 Spanish speakers in California when the Yankee to it over. It was a backwater. Within 20 years it was booming. The Yankees made that happen. So yeah, as someone with an appreciation of my history, we have the right -- there in the Constitution -- to make the rules as to who gets in.

@gottaknow247 Regardless why they family came I am sure the system has taken advantage of the low wages funny how you forget this when you are to lazy do you own work.  Look around you an see whom is working an who just makes excuses.  Then again you not in this situation or you would have one new attitude.    Then again the Pharmacist is what a licensed dealer ok that really backs your theory.

@gottaknow247  You're fonder of corrupt politicians, supporters of bloodthirsty, anti-American terrorists such as Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, but not of kids who have lived exemplary lives in the U.S for most of their lives?

That would show where your priorities lie.

@gottaknow247 No one said he was responsible for being here or her situation.  No matter what she is discussing with him, he is out of line treating anyone...ANYONE that way.

@Mitchell_Young

The estimate for net increases in undocumented workers is zero.

Where are you getting your numbers?  (I'm betting they smell really bad.)

@Mitchell_Young Not a bad idea. I like it actually. Lock down border with drones also. Sanctions on Mexican Government as well needed as well as severe consequences for employers or schools giving jobs to illegals.

They're not.  It's a standard misconception that Americans lose jobs to undocumented workers.  Usually, those workers do jobs American workers don't want because they are too lazy to actually do hard work.

Sorry, but short order cook at IHOP is not a stepping stone to sous chef at Marche Modern. You need to go to CIA or Cordon Bleu. Besides the fact that this is the same tired arguement that employers make when they claim they can't find "qualified" Americans to fill the jobs only mean that we won't do it for poverty wages.

@Mitchell_Young @gulsbyja look regardless what you Yankee mentality thinks this man is a F redneck an well that says it all.  As for this Country well lets look at history an if you remember this is what they taught you in school the true people of this country are natives or Indian tribes an the mestizo raza is were we come from an have dominated central America before Christ was born so get over it an move on this land belongs everyone regardless if you hold a peace of paper for you see this again was the white mans way of stealing land.

@fsmith3 @Mitchell_Young My numbers are from the 'Yearbook of Immigration Statistics" put out by DHS. In fact, in 2011 (latest year available), 143,446 Mexicans were admitted for lawful permanent residence status -- so I underestimated.  In the last decade, well over 1.5 million Mexicans have been admitted legally.

Your 'estimate' of net zero immigration was for illegal immigration. BTW it is outdated, last year saw a resumption of illegal immigration as the economy improved (and Obama enticed potential illegals with talk of amnesty).

Mitchell_Young

@EarlGrayHot That's just false. There are only two occupations in the US that have a majority of immigrant (illegal and legal) workers -- stoop labor on farms and nail painting (i.e. manicurists). From construction work to line cook in restaurants, hell, even to U-Pick berries, Americans will do the work if not frozen out by ethnic networks and paid decently.

They are also immigrants. Besides, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are college drop-outs, does that mean you're more likely to find success in Scilicon Valley if you drop out of college? The plural of anecdote is not 'data'.

@BobLoblawsLawBlog So I looked up Gordon Ramsey -- not a day in culinary school, according to Wiki. Likewise Marco Pierre White.
