Marvin Manzo, who escaped from minimum-security James A. Musick Facility on Dec. 20, was recaptured without incident in Anaheim at 1:15 p.m. today, the Orange County Sheriff's Department announced. At last word, the convicted thief was still behind bars at Orange County Jail, where he faces a possible one-year sentence for the escape, which Manzo pulled about four months before his scheduled release.

Manzo, whose rap sheet includes grand theft, attempted grand theft and resisting arrest, was originally taken into custody Nov. 12 for a probation violation, which earned him a sentence of 180 days at Musick and three years probation.

Jailers first noticed him missing during a routine inmate head count on Dec. 20. Officials believed he escaped around 5 p.m., leaving behind his jail garb and slightly injuring his leg climbing over razor wire.

Sheriff's investigators received information indicating Manzo would be at the intersection of Euclid Street and La Palma Avenue in Anaheim today, according to a statement from the department. Surveillance was set up, Manzo was seen walking toward the intersection, and he was confronted and arrested without incidents, according to deputies.
