Ben Affleck and Loretta Sanchez Need to Get a Room After House Committee Clash Over Congo

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D-Garden Grove) and actor/director/producer/Jimmy Kimmel fuck buddy Ben Affleck (D-Massachusetts) reportedly had a little tussle at a House Armed Services Committee hearing this week.

The heart of the matter that split the pair was not the proper use of undocumented folks who can vote you into office and go on to work Hollywood film sets, but U.S.-led training of the Congo's military.

Affleck, who heads up the East Congo Initiative, was at Wednesday's D.C. hearing to defend the more than year-old operations that have U.S. trainers from the East Command helping prepare Congolese light infantry forces for battle against the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) headed by infamous warlord Joseph Kony, reports The Hill.

You may recall Kony from one of the most controversial and widely read Navel Gazing posts of 2012, Kenya-born former Weekly intern Peter Ngugi's dissection of the documentary KONY 2012.

Affleck--who has been mentioned as both a possible best director Oscar nominee and, less seriously, candidate for the Massachusetts Senate seat John Kerry will abandon should he be confirmed as Secretary of State--referred to U.S. military training missions in Iraq and Afghanistan as successes.

Argo . . . er . . . ergo, similar ops can be successful in east Africa, Affleck maintained.

Advise and assist missions by the U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan were "emblematic of what could happen" in the Congo, should Washington continue its efforts in the volatile African nation, said Affleck.

"We take these signs" from combat operations in southwest Asia "and assume it can be done [successfully] in a larger scope" in Africa, he added.

And that, dear citizens, is what set off Sanchez, senior member of the House Armed Services Committee and the ranking Democrat on the Strategic Forces Subcommittee.

She countered American efforts to train Afghan National Security Forces have been an abject failure, marred by insider attacks against U.S. and NATO troops, Taliban infiltration into the military's ranks and consistent desertions by ANSF troops.

Kiss a cameo in The Town 2 goodbye, Loretta

Coker, do you have any idea whatsoever what the phrase "get a room" means?  I'll give you credit -- you got me to click, although I was wincing at what I might find.

Loretta was right.  I'm repulsed by the LRA, but it's not likely that our military training actions in Congo will help.  A lot of good people got swept up in the "Kony 2012" drive, but it was always half-baked.  I'm sorry that Affleck was taken in by the Konyheads, but we pay our elected officials to be less easily swayed by PR.  Loretta passes this test -- and doesn't need "a room."

so what does she mean that our training did not work. We can't stop Mexican terrorist networks from killing our own people here. And thet Mexicans drug terrorist kill more US citizens a year than the Middle east has ever killed in the USA.

there are more street terrorist deaths in Washington DC than there are in the whole middle east and the majority of them are from Mexican boarder drug issues. That reach that far in.

also you might want to look into US spy planes being used to watch drug payloads going to Mexican racist areas of human smuggling and illegal seat warfare building too. That is a very interesting read about her and those possible ties to Mexicans in the US spy plane divisions.

Matt if you want to fight her call the barge operator he might have a few envelopes for you on her.

How can you say our operations of training have no affects. When compared to Mexico where her buddies that fund her live. With 60,000 terrorist deaths a year in Mexico and only 712 in the whole middle east. With over 10,000 US terrorist deaths by mexican nationals, and only around 10 terrorist deaths of US citizens in the US by middle eastern nationalist. I think really miss Mexicano pride lady should look again at how well we did over there.

If Matt was smart he would find the barge operator and his ties to local US sin dictators and find out what they know about her and her ties to Mexican espionage.

I have an idea! Why don't we air drop Stan "the Afghan war hero LMFAO" Knee into Congolese light infantry territory - but before you do stick a few pamphlets in his pockets entitled "How to terrorize your citizenry in 20 easy steps - by Comrad Kony".

It would go a long way toward my healing process.

Loretta is right. The efforts to train the Afghans has pretty much trained the guys that are now shooting at our troops. Just like the ARVN US Aid was diverted and sold at pennies o the dollar to NVA and VC. Someone didnt tell Cheley and Bush about the ages old adage "Never engage in a land war in Asia". That was in reference to Afghanistan.

Hey, pal, you're becoming really tedious with your irrelevant, paranoid, me-me-me blathering. Nobody gives a rat's ass ...

@JackGrimshaw I'm so glad you made the me-me-me blathering point Mr. Grim.

In case anyone gets the impression this is all about yo  -> message to OC law enforcement leadership: Don't think that we didn't notice how you defecated on the trust that your police officer's have in you. Don't think that we didn't notice how you perverted the public trust using OC people's money (including yours Mr. Grim)  to commit federal civil rights crimes.

You are correct Mr. Grim ... it ain't all about me.

And as if to look into the future and anticipate your next brilliant reply:

If you are going to say that I "hate the police"  ... when this started I hated the police so much that I was risking my white Hispanic ass in Bogota, Colombia working on engineering surveillance projects for the benefit of "La policia" among others. That's how much I hated the police.

I accept your apology.
