Counterfeiters used Craigslist to ripoff OC iPhone sellers
With his 24-year-old co-conspirator Matthew An, Sam June Kim operated a three-month, 2012 con game that targeted sellers of their personal iPhones

The pair ripped off at least seven Orange County victims, stealing eight iPhones while passing fake, relatively crappy looking $20, $50 and $100 bills to unsuspecting sellers, according to court records.

Earlier this month, U.S. District Court Judge Cormac J. Carney sentenced An to a 12-month prison sentence.

This week, the 29-year-old Kim learned his fate: six months of incarceration.

Both scumbags were also ordered to pay restitution to the victims.

According to federal officials, An is presently "in transit" to prison; Kim remains locked in U.S. Marshal custody inside the Santa Ana Jail.
