Derek Christopher Adams Gets 46 Years to Life for White Trash Tantrum, Murdy Park Murder

Derek Christopher Adams, a Huntington Beach 24-year-old convicted in August of murdering a man after a day of rage directed at a different man dating a woman the defendant pined for, was sentenced today to 46 years to life in state prison.

Up next on the court docket from the October 2010 shooting at Murdy Park in Huntington Beach is a Dec. 14 pre-trial hearing for the 21-year-old woman who was standing by Adams' side.

Ken Heintz, the father of Gregory Ryan Heintz, the Garden Grove 32-year-old who died after being shot in the stomach at Murdy Park, reportedly told the court today, "On [that] day, Derek Adams was in an out-of-control rage, and he became a one-man wrecking crew who conceived, orchestrated and carried out a series of horrific acts that ended in the brutal killing of our innocent and unsuspecting son. Greg never stood a chance against the pent up anger and unwarranted aggression of the criminal monster that Derek Adams became that day."

Added Jennifer Heintz, the victim's youngest sister, "I will never be able to see Greg again, I will never be able to tell him how much I miss him and how much I love him. . . . Now all I can do is just sit next to his grave and hope that he can hear me when I tell him I love him."

The thing is, Heintz was not the person Adams had targeted when the day began. Pissed that a woman he had eyes on was dating a parolee named Cody Mosher, Adams and Marissa Star Bilotti, who is now his co-defendant, went to Mosher's Newport Beach home around 11 a.m. on Oct. 22, 2010, broke down the door and started arguing with Mosher and his girlfriend.

Keeping in mind that Bilotti, who is innocent until proven guilty, is only accused of the following, they stole money from the woman's purse during the argument, which continued between the women as Adams went into the kitchen to retrieve a knife. He punched, beat and ultimately slashed Mosher before stealing the parolee's cell phone and fleeing with Bilotti.

Throughout the day, Adams sent messages to the girlfriend from Mosher's cell phone before arranging to return it to her at Murdy Park. Bilotti allegedly covered the license plate of her car before driving Adams into the park's lot around 3:30 p.m. She is further accused of concealing a folding knife in her vagina while waiting in the car for Adams, who by then was carrying a firearm as he approached the girlfriend, Heintz and another friend.

Adams threw the cell phone to Heintz before shooting him in the stomach. Bilotti is said to have removed the license plate cover on her car before Adams rejoined her and they sped off. Dumb move, as witnesses wrote down the plate number and called 9-1-1. Huntington Beach cops quickly swooped in, pulled Bilotti's car over and arrested the pair. Heintz died in a local hospital.

On Aug. 22, a jury found Adams guilty of one felony count each of murder, first degree robbery, first degree residential burglary, and aggravated assault with sentencing enhancements for the personal discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury and death and the personal use of a firearm. Bilotti is charged with one felony count each of murder, aggravated assault, and first degree residential burglary with sentencing enhancements for being armed with a firearm and knowingly being vicariously armed with a firearm. She's looking at up to 35 years and four months to life in state prison if found guilty.

She is just as responsible if not more. I was there that day. It was my husband who died and believe you me I was there and she new what she was doing especially when she hid a knife in her vagina for 2 wks and only brought it out cuz she got really sick and almost died.. When her trial starts it will call cxomabout

She is a catch and just married another OC winner, props to the OCW for finding a nice picture of her outside the meth head crack whore normal ones.

The bride, Marissa Star Bilotti, 20, accused of helping a former boyfriend shoot and kill a man in 2010, wore her jailhouse uniform consisting of a dark blue smock and pants, with her hair "done as best it could be" and a little makeup.

The groom, Iftekhar Murtaza, 26, accused with two other people of beating the father and sister of his ex-girlfriend to death and then setting their bodies on fire in 2007, donned a mustard-colored jailhouse uniform, his hair neatly cut and his face shaven.

This is a very confusing case.  What was his issue with Heintz or did he even know him?  As far as Marissa Bilotti goes it seems like charging her with murder for a crime that Adams was convicted of is a bit of a stretch.  I'm not saying she is innocent but I don't think think her participation warrants a murder charge.

@949girl It sounds as if Bilotti was in on the premeditated criminal plan, what with the covered license plate and folding knife in her vagina, plus she drove the getaway vehicle after the shooting, all of which means she should rightfully be charged as an accessory to the murder.
