What a joke. Even my American Indian friends celebrate thanksgiving. And I agree with John Rose, most Mexicans that live in the US don't represent the US at all. It's amazing too that they have so much love for a country(Mexico)that failed them. If it didn't then why would they have come here? If you're born in the US then you're American, U.S.A.

Thanks for writing this article on an alternative for "Thanksgiving". The way I see it, you can choose to ignore the true cultural and historical context of Thanksgiving and create our own reality; however, the truth remains the truth.

I celebrate the Pilgrims and the Indians, I love Thanksgiving. The people who are speaking freely should give thanks for thanksgiving. As the culture of democracy those speaking against a Federal holiday should give thanks for the muticultural day we came together to try and be a people of different cultures through food and debate instead of war. As without it we are just a mono fascist people trying to kill each other.

@johnrose7588 Santanna represents an ancient spiritual belief in Mexican American. As this area has a high density of Mexicans who are very pro American. A high density of US Mexican American military live here.

@fithinblue i myself am american mexican. I lived in santa ana for 15 years. Most hispanics there are not pro american hence when you drive through the city you will see more mexican flags than american flags. Thats why when i go to a store in s.a. the cashier will speak spanish to me and i have to correct him or her that we are in america. And i am aware that most hispanics are catholic. I never heard of any ancient spiritual belief in mexican america. In ancient times there were no mexicans or americans. If you sig deep in mexican culture you will find the mayans, savages and later on catholicism. But no history of santana. I think santana is just a lazy way of saying santa ana. Just for the same reason my mothernlaw refuses to try and learn english. They allready know spanish so its easier. Anyways. Got to go to the fams. Happy thanks giving buddy

@johnrose7588 @fithinblue actually dude you will not see more Mexican flags than American flags. As it is a felony to fly a Mexican flag without flying an American flag at the same level of hight. As the group of Mexican American military that families left Mexico see Mexican cartels as the Mexican military and thus do not like Mexican flags disrespecting their new American mexican families. Plus there are a group of Mexican and Americans who go around once a month and look for them as it ques into other issues of possible treason or proxy warriors. Thanksgiving is about two ancient cultures coming together to live together. The Indians and Pilgrims at that time where good friends. The idea is to be a Democracy and to be able to come together during times of hardship and work through things. It is a great celebration. If you want to get into hate and bring dislike to things then I feel that sucks.

In most case scenarios it is not that hard to see who the Mexican proxies warriors are. And in most cases if they disrespect the Mexican military will clean up without US Generals pulling lines. For example one case in the US. A whole street got protesty and all of them did cocain and had illegal immigrants and contacts to foreign nationals. So the whole street was vacated and the least term for human smuggling nexus I forget the word for a teenager who rode in a car with an illegal immigrant got two years. Just over flags. It is actually funny how in some areas Mexicans think they are hiding where they store materials or human beings. Most of the time folks do not care so long as they do not shove it in the face or act mean to non Mexican lines of proxy warriors.
